Regarding the Season Finale... *Not really a spoiler but may trigger a spoilery discussion*

    Huh?!?!

Okay, that clearly wasn't intended as the original season finale, right?

Are there episodes that weren't shot because of the strike? I thought I'd read that all SCC episodes were in the can.

They were all completed before the strike and as a result they weren't affected by the strike.

Then I guess I have to stick with... Huh?!?!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the episodes (this show has been awesome), but they felt like the lead up to the season finale, not the finale itself.

They were supposed to have 22 eps...then 13 eps...but only nine were made before the writer's strike offed their season, so that ninth episode ended up being a finale, even though it wasn't prepared as one...so no, that wasn't planned.  But I still got enough resolution out of these two eps to tide me over.  But I want MORE! I'm hoping they're renewed for a second season.

Aha! Thanks, Chantal. That's what I assumed. There's no way that felt like the intended season finale.

For me it felt like they really had a kick-ass finale planned, and we were building up to it when the plug was pulled. Still, I certainly don't blame the creative team for this. The strike caused problems across the board.

Regardless... like you, I WANT MORE!!!Cool

These folks have proved that you can make a Terminator show for tv (without Linda Hamilton or Arnie) and still make it compelling. I'll be back in the Fall to see what's next for our troubled saviors.

Heh.  The Fox execs must have thought this was still the case and they had plenty of time remaining to cancel it unresolved.

I had heard these were the finales in place and the only thing was cut back was the amount of action and stuff in case it did comeback.  This finale was not due to the writers strike according to the same sources.

It sure did feel like the action was cutback.  There were quite a few times in the last two episodes where it was slow, compared to the pacing and tension in previous episodes.  I just felt that they set a certain standard in the episodes we have seen so far and so the last two were a letdown for me.

I've gotta echo the "huh?!?" It seemed more like the big mishmash episode right before the season finale.

But I'm glad it's coming back. I'm having fun with this show.

I just hope that Summer isn't... um... toast.

There was one thing that I especially liked seeing, and that was the 2 guys watching the kids play ball. Most shows stay away from that kind of encounter. I was quite impressed.

A bit of a trivia question here, but I was wondering whether anyone knew the name of the video game the kids were playing when John went into the arcade to buy those computer components.  Was it Halo 3?

I highly doubt Cameron is dead, especially if they stay true to the Terminator storyline.

... yea that encounter was a nice touch. It also showed a much more thouhgtful side to Reese's character than I ever expected to see at any point in the series. Also liked the part where John lightly caressed Cameron's hair and when she awoke alluded to the fact that she had seen everything. John seemed to be left not knowing if she meant the hair caress part also. Expect the show to touch back on this point somewhere down the road as their relationship is bound to grow. Looking forward to next season as this show can go a lot further ... and no Cameron won't be toast that is a different series. Wink  Below is a link to an excellent Wiki-page on the series and some info. that is good for trivia fans.

Re: Regarding the Season Finale... *Not really a spoiler but may trigger a spoilery discussion*

There was some sloppy writing, but overall they were good.

In Episode 8 John and Cameron attempt to hack into Vick's neuro-chip.  The chip fights back!  That and Cameron's plan make the episode; the other stuff isn't as interesting (standard action stuff).

In Episode 9, a new (human) villain named Sarkassian is introduced.  Ep 9 deals completely with the continuing quest to locate 'The Turk'.  It seems this quest will be a continuing focus of the series.  There is also another sequence with hapless FBI agent Ellison and the terminator villain from the first few episodes (who has been very ineffectual through most of this series). I question how long they will find these two characters useful.  Good episode though.

Re: Regarding the Season Finale... *Not really a spoiler but may trigger a spoilery discussion*

I'm loving the series - a couple little points bug me but nothing enough to spoil the series.  I do wonder about the final episode - after killing all the other FBI agents [at least I think agent Ellison is the only one still alive] why did the terminator not kill Ellison too?  That didn't make sence.  Any thoughts?  If it had been a human villain I could come up with reasons but they don't fit well with a terminator.

I think one thing that bugs me is the opening monologue - mostly good, but it says that Skynet sent back machines "Some to kill them, one to protect them."  Excuse me?  Skynet did not send back any machines to protect them.  Ok, we have a reprogrammed terminator to protect them, but the way the opening is worded it sounds like Skynet sent her back, which we know is not the case and in fact it makes no sence at all.  I have to wonder at such an error in the monologue - it just seems very sloppy to me.

I do like the fact that this series is well intigrated with the first 2 movies but mostly pretends there was no third movie because although I enjoyed T3, the fact is it was not nearly as well written as the first two and it didn't fit nicely into the story.  This series works far better.

Re: Regarding the Season Finale... *Not really a spoiler but may trigger a spoilery discussion*

Above someone asked if the game was Halo indeed according to various sources it was.  I am wondering maybe ala a classic Trek episode  (sorry cannot recall the title) the Terminator thought that Ellison was somehow related to its creator and that is why he spaired him.
