Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

There are only 4 women who we know of who are cylons.  I think the final cylon is Laura Roslin.  She had a vision of Hera in the Opera house the same time as Number 6 and Sharon, which happened the same time the newly revealed cylons started hearing the music.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

It seems to me that the most unlikely, but ironically possible candidate is President Roslin as an unknowing Cylon agent. Her programming may be active and she is unaware that she is a Cylon. Roslin is in a position to cause the greatest confusion without directly causing harm.

After watching season 4 episode 2 we learn the following:

    1. All 5 of the remaining cylons are in the colonial fleet.

    2. None of final 5 will harm a human

So when P. Roslin is confronted by Starbuck she cannot kill her and misses shooting her at close range.

And perhaps thats the "flaw" the orginal programs failed to elimnate?

Perhaps for some unknown reason no matter what the "programers did to them they kept refusing to harm humans hence this is why perhaps why the other 7 refuse to talk about them.

The final 5 are different in many ways. As to what they all are on time will tell as the show goes on.

But we've lerant one thing from EP 2 It appears the cylons are now turning on themselfs and are fighting and actually killinf each other.

    Raiders refusing to fioght.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

It is obviously Bob Dylan. What song did the four who were revealed have stuck in their heads, All Along the Watchtower, by Bob Dylan. How do you think the Cylons knew about that song? Obviously since Bob Dylan wrote the song therefore Bob Dylan is the final Cylon.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Bob Dylan is really the Cylon god who wrote the song to make the Cylons do his work.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

in addition to 1 and 2 above Roslin is the perfect candidate

    3. rather than her body rejecting it, she was healed by the blood of a cylon/human hybrid.

    4.  no known children, which still leaves boomer's child as being special and explains Roslin's attachment to it. -  (they really goofed with Tyrol and Callie - cylon sperm?)

    5. casting wise, Mary McDonnell ROCKS!! - if she gets the chance she can play an "activated" cylon over the top and straight home.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Well what will really blow your mind, then... Starbuck has been to Earth and "they're going the wrong way", and who is leading them away? Where does Starbuck go? She goes to convince Roslin to turn around. So why isn't Roslin heading for Earth? Well if your goal is to protect humans, why have the cylons follow you to the thirteenth colony? And she may have realized she was a cylon for some time, especially since the transfusion, and she's trying to find her place. She was against the bombing against the cylons on New Caprica, she's sharing the visions, and maybe as President she would unite the two factions for a peaceful future.

She's the first skinjob, and malfunctioning, and the hybrid transfusion helped for a while. She's falling apart. Made too human.  She made him an admiral. As a final five, she's prote4cting humans. Maybe her model has been active so long without ressurrecting that she has to have what the Doc thinks is cancer. Cells breaking down, acting like a cancer...

And like the other cylon females, she has an attachment to a human male, and of course, she isattached to Adama, Admiral of the fleet. It's a good way to influence things when just being President wasn't working.

Now at the end of our last episode they had a fight and he is breaking free of her. He sent Starbuck out with a ship to find Earth. This sets up the conflict.

This Roslin theory makes a lot of sense from a writer's perspective, There are a lot of subtle clues going back to the first season if we look for them. But all good writers leave clues for all sorts of suspects, so we cannot confirm that it is Roslin just yet.

But if we think like writers, and try to plot it out, I think we'll find the answer :)

Oh and Starbuck was sucked into the gas giant at full speed, probably moved at the speed of light, and without jumping, the time distortion effects take her. So she experiences a few hours, everyone sees her as gone for a few months, and if she was pushed back in time, it could distort and somehow pull the Viper into the time it was still new. We should see if there are any hints that Starbuck is missing a scar, or an injury seems healed, and that could be indication of this theory instead of the one that she's a cylon.

This is fun. I need to get my fellow aspiring screenwriters onto the problem and see what else we can figure out. :)

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

mmm I think I remember that I said that Roslin could be a cylon months and months ago.Stick out tongue

I was told no way that she hated cylons and she spaced one

but on Caprica SIX and one of the Sharons killed  Deanna (is she a 5?? )

Six was shot on new Caprica by another Cylon.

Sharron has killed many Cylons including Six on Caprica when she was suducing Helo

Death is different knowing that they will just come back.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

But that does not explain Tygh. He killed his wife. Unlike the theory that Roslin didn't kill Starbuck because she is the last unknown cylon.  Roslin that is. And would they not have known (Skin Jobs) that Tygh was a cylon after they took his eye? When Anders didn't shoot the cylon raider and the raider scanned him, his eye turned red, they sould have noticed that Tygh was a cylon from taking his eye. Just my thoughts anyway.

But didn't he tell Adama that Roslin is a Cylon just to frack with both their heads and turn them against each other.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Tigh hated Cylons so much, he killed his wife for collaborating with them. Tyrol and Anders were both resistance leaders on New Caprica. Killed plenty of Cylons there.

So, it would seem that it's impossible to guess whether someone is a Cylon based on how willing they are to kill other Cylons, or how sympathetic they appear to the Cylons' beliefs. It was said way back in the miniseries, "anyone could be a Cylon." This way, they all suspect each other. But who would have ever guessed Tigh, or Tyrol?

I have a feeling the last Cylon isn't going to be blatantly obvious, and certainly won't be anyone the characters themselves have suspected or hinted at (which rules out Baltar and Starbuck right away). It has to be someone whose storyline is not diminished by their revelation as a Cylon, but at the same time has to be someone important enough to the story that the reveal is meaningful. That cuts out a lot of the usual suspects. IMO though, it doesn't rule out Roslin.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Ok ... I'm kinda thinking the 5th Cylon could be the young boy Derrick. Because this kid had viral encephalitis and made a miracle recovery. This type of disease is really hard to cure as the virus(es) are tough to kill. There are 9 known viruses that can lead to this medical condition . All are highly infectious. How the mother smuggled her kid out of what should have been a quarantine situation, especially in an enclosed environment like a ship, is unkown to me. There would /should have been a huge search for him when he went missing and when found the mother should have been thrown in the brig for endangering the rest of the ship. That and everyone in close contact with the boy would have to be medically accessed ( typo edit oops).  His angelic after appearance with no sign of fever is just a little to convienient also. Either he is the 5th Cylon or the west coast bud is really leaving huge gaps in the writers storyline.  ... take your pick.

...in essence we are the universe
    trying to understand itself.

Willingness to kill other Cylons isn't really a good argument since they know the killed Cylons will simply be downloaded into new bodies.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

I have to agree - it won't be baltar or starbuck. And it won't be someone so insignificant that it comes out of nowhere, like "Jammer". It would be anticlimatic if it was Dualla - unless they build her character up a bit. Gaeta would be a fun revelation, but I would be so bummed if it was Roslin!

On another note, the known seven regenerate and they don't seem to age. The Galactica four  must be a different type of model, because they have a history with other characters in the series, so they DO age, but do they regenerate? And does the final Cylon know that he/she is one at this time?

Finally, I have been really stuck on the idea of the main characters surviving the trip to earth and landing there 5,000 years ago and becoming deities to the ancient greeks and preaching their polytheistic religion, whereas the surviving Cylons land somewhere else in the region and preach a monotheistic vision....that would be cheeky and kind of funny.

Someone else suggested that Nicholas and Hera would be Adam and Eve and their children would populate the earth, and all humanity would be genetically hybrid, and that civilization would build up to the creation of cylons "it has happened before, it will happen again".

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

It may be that the unknown Cylon is just that... up to now, he/she hasn't played a significant role in the story. It may be that the final one is about to be introduced this season... perhaps one of Baltar's followers.

Keep in mind that Anders wasn't with the fleet originally... Starbuck brought him back from Caprica, where he was fighting guerilla tactics against the Cylons on the planet. And Tory's character came to be known only after Billy's death... (Thus far, I am impressed with the Cylons' ability to place the human models in exactly the right place at exactly the right time for maximum dramatic effect in the story. They seem to be really clairvoyant... or else, the writers are completely winging it from episode to episode.)

Regarding the "Four": Out of the Cylons revealed at the end of last season, the only one that is bugging me and doesn't fit the mold is Col. Tigh. He & Bill Adama are supposed to have been in the military together and been friends a long time... they fought in the first Cylon war together 40 years previous to the mini-series. How is that possible? Unless the Cylons had already created human models when the war began... but in Razor, we are shown the young Bill Adama on a planet just discovering that the Cylons were conducting experiments on humans and they escape off-planet just before an armistice is declared. So if they hadn't created human models at that point (and again, it doesn't really say for sure... I'm assuming), how could they have created the "Tigh" model then?

Lastly, I really don't think a lot of the questions people have been asking are going to be answered in the final 18 episodes. The hows & whys are going to be left open-ended. As the end gets closer, I can see that happening... Baltar's & Six's hallucinations of each other, for example, won't be explained, nor Starbuck's seeming death & resurrection. That's just my opinion, of course...

Just out of curiosity, in what episode does everyone think the final Cylon will be revealed... will it not be till the final episode or maybe the beginning of the second half of this season?
