    Firefox 3.0 on the horizon

PC magazine has an article about what to expect in Firefox 3.0.

Lots of nifty stuff to look forward to.

Here is another update from PC mag on Firefox 3 beta 4

It should be available around April 1. (No kidding)

Firefox 3.0 is ready for download.

I can see some nifty new features already, but the first thing it did was to dump a few of the add-ons that I like to use.

Grrr, I liked those add ons. Sad

Haven't gotten around to downloading that yet. Much new to get excited about?

For myself, the page zoom is nice. The bookmarks are supposed to be enhanced in all sorts of ways but I haven't played with it yet.

There is a feature page here that lists more stuff.

and it actually dose(oops) does seem to be faster.

For me, I love the new feature in Firefox that they've dubbed the "awesome" bar. Type in any keyword in your address bar and it not only finds matching URLs in your history but it also now finds matching results in web page titles in your history and bookmarks. It also ranks the results by listing the sites you visit the most often at the top. Overall, it seems faster and is less of a memory hog on my PC compared to Firefox 2. Thanks Mozilla, definitely won't be switching back to IE anytime soon!

Another thing I like about it is that when you are closing the browser you can save the tabs you currently have open. It saves me from having to search through the history to go back to webpages I didn't finish reading the night before. It hasn't crashed on me yet and seems to run very smoothly.

    Re: Firefox 3.0 is here

    Those are both good features.

For myself, I like the zoom. Finally I can see a web page the same width as my monitor instead of just 1/2 monitor width, and when you return to the site, FF remembers the zoom and puts it back for you.

Two problems though, so far is the evernote extension hasn't been updated and doesn't work in FF3. I have a lot of clipped info in there that I can't get to now, and the other problem is that every page I open goes to the current tab even though I told FF to open a new one each time.

I'm sure both of those will go away with extension updates some day.
