Re: Update to: The Scapers in Italy have triumphed!

Just to let people know, the Farscape Canada package to the FS.I.C. was mailed out yesterday and the tracking number is:  EE 004 807 398 CA (for those of you inclined to keep track of such things. Wink [;)] )

The Italian 'Scapers should have their gift package by February 4th or thereabouts - in plenty of time for the February 13th premiere of Farscape on Italian TV!

Re: Update to: The Scapers in Italy have triumphed!

I e-mailed Giovanni of the FS.I.C. to keep an eye out for the package to his group, and got this response from him:

    Hi, dear [me].

It is 11 pm in Italy now, and I am so touched by your gift and your thoughts. There is nothing I can say to let you know how excited and anxious I am for that package and to thank you all for your deep kindness. There is no group of fans as Farscape fans. Now, I know that.

FarScape Italian Club will soon return your gift with something produced over here, in Italy. I hope you put your address on the package.

I was waiting to write you for an updating of the events over here. I have still to wait a few days... wait for me.

Of course, I will notify you as soon as the package will be there and I will write about it on the web site.

Have our gratitude and our thanks. The great support you have in your hearts for FS.I.C. and your friendship, besides all the gifts, is the one thing that I care about.

    I am so touched.

    Thanks again, talk soon,
    Hugs
    Giovanni
What a nice guy.   Especially since they must be so busy right now getting stuff ready for the Farscape Premiere in two weeks and two days.

To the FS.I.C. -  Congratulazioni e buona fortuna!

    The Italian Eagle has Landed!

Just got a quick e-mail from Giovanni.  The package has arrived a whole five days early. Surprise [:O]  Canada Post did us proud!

Here is the note that he sent:

    Dear [Me],

it is hard to say... but italian postal services didn't fail this time!

I had the package just a few microt ago.

I am so excited and so happy. You folks are so special. The t-shirt is a beauty, the stuff amazing. I cannot say how deeply I appreciate all this from you.

I am going to work right now but be sure I will be back to you with new impressions about the package, and I will as soon write about it on the web site. All the stuff will be with me at the Convention in March, on our desk. You will have pictures of that.

    You ARE more.

    Hugs,
    Giovanni and the FSIC'ers

    Good job 'Scapers!

Re: The Italian Eagle has Landed - Update!

I think I am all choked up now.  Just got another Thank You e-mail from Giovanni.   I think the FS.I.C. are well on their way to spreading the 'Scaper love - and the Scorpy Chip Cookies will be a bit hit with his staff.   *sniff*

    Here is the e-mail:

I am not [just] lucky. I am more than lucky I got to meet you all.

I find the stuff in the package is really fantastic. I noticed the tin was hand decorated the microt I had it in my hands. It is really beautiful and be sure it will be dear to our hearts and we will find a suitable way to use it on our desk. I think you have to put me in contact with TBZF so I can thank her properly. The thought people like her or you made something by hand only to send it over to me and the group is really moving. So I will share the cookies with the staff (it would be impossible to meet other guys before the convention and I don't know how long the cookies can stand). Talking about the recipe (what an ingenious and innovative way to spread the word!!!, I think I could put it somewhere on the web site, for Scapers wanting to try themselves :) Of course, if you agree.

I have never ate maple sugar candies. However, knowing this will last more than the cookies, I think I will save them for the convention's nights in Fiuggi, with the other Scapers. It will be funny to share them with the other ones, in that occasion.

The T-Shirt is really gorgeous and I will be proud to wear it at the convention. I am sure someone will ask me where to buy it, so maybe I will try to replicate the idea by using some ratman's image - if you don't mind -. We did make some t-shirts, last summer, but we used our logo on the front, and an edited image on the back. Now we are too near to the owner of the italian rights to be allowed to use the original images. So, a ratman would be perfect for some self-funding step.

I understood the book was something to pass when I saw the header with the dedication. I loved that idea. It is something in line with the show and it reminded me about John talking with Chiana in Family ties, "When someone else needs it, return the favor. You pass it on." So, be sure FS.I.C. will honor this promise and, as you were so kind with us, we will find some other people to pass it on.

The other amazing stuff will be on our desk in Fiuggi; I think I will give the pins and the magnets to the first Associates who will approach the table until they will be used up. I will proudly wear one and so my wife :) We are trying to make some self-produced magnet and bookmark, too; we hope to do as well as you (hard task to accomplish).

Please thank Jagwriter78 and all the people involved in the Farscape Music Video's DVD's project. I will bring with me my laptop and show the videos looping on the desk. I will be glad to thank Jagwriter78 in person, too.

We are planning to prepare a package for you so I am keeping aside the address I found on the package. When we will be ready (it may take some time) you will tell me how to ship it to you all.

Thank you again and again for all your kind thoughts. Each item in the package is dear to us for some reason and so are you.

Italian Scapers have lot to learn from Farscape Canada and people at Frell me dead. I am proud to be a Scaper.

    Kiss and hugs
    Giovanni
I guess we better let Ratscape know that he has made another conquest.... Smile [:)]

    'Scapers Rule!

Re: The Italian Eagle has Landed - Update!

The FS.I.C. has dedicated a page on their site to thank Farscape Canada for the Congratulatory Package that we sent them in honour of the upcoming Italian premiere of Farscape.

It is in Italian (of course) but a quick translation through babelfish ( http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr ) or the web page translator of your choice will give you an accurate idea of what is being said.

Plus there is a picture of the goodies we sent - and TBZF it looks like your Scorpy Chip Cookies have been a big hit, (the tin has been opened, but not a cookie to be seen - bet they are all gone already. Wink [;)] )  hehehehehehe!

Go check out the page - the FS.I.C.'Scapers are a great bunch.

Re: The Italian Eagle has Landed - Update!

Oh that's sweet, they put a thank you in English at the bottom.

Looking at that pic, that is an impressive spread you guys managed, and the tin is wonderful (I can imagine those Scorpy chips didnt last 15 minutes!)

Re: The Italian Eagle has Landed - Update!

Thank you!  It was a group effort - mostly pulled together by TBZF.

And there were some maple sugar candies that didn't make it to the picture.   Coincidence?   You decide.  *snicker*

    Re: D'Argo in Italy!

    Cross posting from Terra Firma:

I am just in AWE of these wonderful hard-working Scapers.

To date, they have sold Jimmy network on the idea of showing Farscape, then worked diligently to translate the dialog so that Italian actors could do voice over and then promoted the show. On going with that activity is the hard work and expense of planning a table at DeepCon, a very large scifi convention; Anthony Simcoe will be appearing. Italy will never be the same!! rotfl (I just hope the interpreter can keep up with Anth!!!)

The update I wanted to share is.... we now have a celebrity in the house. yes   jump The [picture] below is a screen cap at the end of the first ever episode to appear in Italy IN Italian...acknowledging Giovanni (Listed as GianFranco) and the Italian Scaper Club.

    Rilevante!!  clap2 clap2

I feel a little bit sorry for Anthony's translator for the convention ... Can you imagine?  She is going to need a  lot of recovery time afterwards.   rotfl

    Re: D'Argo in Italy!

I can see it now, after several attmeps to wait while she catches up, Anth decides to 'scat' the rest of his talk. Italians then get to see him leap and parade across the stage making funny noises ...

    - and to think he said he hated musicals.

Or,  you know, maybe he speaks italian and is forced to slow down long enough to be photographed while on stage.
