    Pardon my french.

What's even better is that there is an Apple computer in 180 Seinfeld episodes.

Still... the PC market is giving Apple a good pomme-ling. Big Smile

    So punny it isn't funny.

I wouldn't say a 38% market share growth over the first 1/2 of '08 is really hurting.

     Stick out tongue

Hell, compared to the mid 90's when I'd bash Apple, kneejerk style, I was hard pressed to run into anyone who wasn't in graphic design that had one.  Now I know several folks who bring their iMacs and Macbooks to my dining room table "hotspot" for free wireless internet.

It is quite sad that MS spent 300million on Jerry when they could've spent it building a good OS.

On a semi-related note; I went back to college this week and during the "orientation" type speech with the department heads, the administrative type person was speaking and mentioned us "working with Vista."  In unison, the dept. heads of Computer Systems Technology, Computer Programming Technology and Computer Network Technology blurted out an emphatic "Oh hell no!"

    Yes

    Punny is never funny.

    Can't argue with you there.

What choice do we have?  They're working so hard to discontinue XP... and Vista prices have dropped.  Talk about desperation.

AFAIK XP support and patches continue through 2014.  That's 4 years after 7 is supposed to be out and hopefully WindowsME-II (revenge of the son of the bloat), aka Vista, will have never touched a machine of mine, even if I do already own a copy.

    Rule #1: Don't trust MS.

AFAIK XP support and patches continue through 2014.

Right after they said about discontinuing XP last July. Stick out tongue  Remember all those promises about releasing Vista, year after year, since 2003?

Don't be surprised if MS decides to end XP tomorrow. Super Angry

Not only that, but I'm sure when I bought my computer I had IE 7, now it says I have IE 6.   WTF?

You're thinking of Home and Media Center being extended to 2014 to match the already established 2014 for Professional.

Hey, I'm not saying that they're not stupid...  But you don't shove the gun (with safety off) down the front of your pants right after shooting yourself in the foot.

    One thing, though.

MS does it all the time... because they can afford it. Big Smile

What do you do with that thing?

    You asked.

The same thing I do every day: try to take over the world.

    Re: You asked.

Hell, with that machine, you might just succeed!

I'm trying to imagine what I might do with that much RAM. I'm scaring myself.

    No need to be scared.

RAM prices have really dropped.  I picked up these Kingston 2GB sticks at $55 a piece.

You don't want to do that.

The place is a mess and the warranty has just about run out.
