    Star Trek Programming Petition!

I doubt I'm the only one that was totally disapointed with the change in scheduling for the afternoon lineup of Star Treks. One of the sole reasons I pay (or payed, perhaps?) for Space was for that lineup. I'd hate to have to resort to switching my cable package to one that has Spike for my ST fix, as we all know, they don't exactly air the TNG episodes as-is. Not to mention, the rest of what they air is weak compared to space. But ST is what I have Space for.

Whether or not you're in the same situation as myself, if you agree that this change in scheduling has affected you, and that it should be changed back to what it originally was (or at least something similar), then sign this petition! If you haven't registered for the forums and are just reading this, take the 5 minutes it takes to register and let Space know.

Plus, that Frankenstein show is absolutely horrible.

Agreed.  Love Star Trek.  Not a fan of  Frightstein, and it's on all the time.

    Re: Star Trek Programming Petition!

Yea I was disappointed to, no trek really killed my morning. I was wandering round for hours and on top off that they STILL have that friday night frightmere thing. Which means that there is only one round of star trek on friday.

That stupid house of frightenstin dose nothing but take up air space it's not funny and somehow I guess never was.

God personally I can't wait till space gets back to the old schedual, sure it means they'll lose BSG but some sacrifies ARE worth it.

DROP THE HOUSE!!!! DROP THE HOUSE!!!! DROP THE HOUSE!!!! DROP THE HOUSE!!!! DROP THE HOUSE!!!! DROP THE HOUSE!!!! DROP THE HOUSE!!!!

    Betreft: Star Trek Programming Petition!

I agree. The afternoon Trek line-up was great.

The only reason I signed up for space is Trek and Babylon 5, anything else I consider just an unexpected bonus.

City TV was broadcasting 4 Voyager episodes every night last week. No longer, unfortunately.

But still, I am very happy with DS9 since it was no longer being broadcasted on any decent channel we have here.

cause it's not like you havent had 6 years to tape all the Star Treks off Space, or god forbid, show your support for the show by buying the DVDs.

    Boozy,

First of all maybe they thought that all the Treks would always be on Space thus did not tape them as for buying the DVD's some people might not be able to afford them.

Indeed, AKalel. I can understand that Space cannot broadcast 10 episodes of each Star Trek Series every single day, but to simply stop broadcasting series like Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5 and Space 1999 doesn't make sense as long as there is nothing to replace them.

As for the DVD's, indeed. I have all the Trek Series and all the Trek movies on DVD. That doesn't prevent me from still watching them on TV.

Re: Betreft: Re: Star Trek Programming Petition!

I think you misunderstood I was saying who knew they were going to drop DS9 from the schedule after all as some would say they use to refer to Space as the Star Trek station.  Re the DVD's you are lucky to have them but some of us might not have the money to purchase them so the only option is to watch them off TV.

Betreft: Re: Betreft: Re: Star Trek Programming Petition!

Actually, I did not misunderstand you, and I totally agreed with you.

However, reading my message again, I also understand that you may have thought that I misunderstood you.

So, in order to be less ambiguous:

Space is also the Star Trek Station for me. While I can understand that declining popularity can force them to stop broadcasting an episode of every single Star Trek series every single day, I have no sympathy for Space just stopping Deep Space Nine broadcasts altogether. Episodes were originally broadcast once a week. They should still be able to do at least that. I am complaining less now, because they now have two episodes a day (weekdays) and one a day (weekends) on CityTV, but I still feel it deserves a place on Space.

The same goes for so many other marvellous series like Babylon 5 and Space 1999.

As for the DVD's, I did not buy them. Far too expensive. In order to buy everything, one would have to spend around 5000 CAD+tax I believe. So, for me, it was worth buying a DVD-recorder and recording everything of television. By cutting all the commercials from the broadcasts, I simply replaced money with effort. Because I recorded in the lowest quality, everything fits on 94 DVD's. Just enough to fill an album. So, my collection also takes less space than the commercial DVD's. I consider that a good thing.

The new programming SUCKS BIGTIME. How can anyone justify replacing Star

trek and Andromeda with that retarded HOUSE show. If it wasnt for BSG I would cancel my subscription to Space right now.

as Mark has said countless times, Space doesn't take shows off the air - viewers do.

Indeed, Mark has said it countless times. And he is right, of course. Space is not a charity. It just doesn't make it any more understandable.

Re: Betreft: Re: Betreft: Re: Betreft: Re: Star Trek Programming Petition!

    remember-

SPACE changes the schedule a lot.

We think that keeps things fresh.

We also bring the popular shows back from time to time.

As for specific shows, I doubt we'll carry SPACE:1999 in the near future.

B5 is a possibility somewhere down the line.

DS9 is the great mystery to me. Our ratings were terrible (even though many fans agree with me that it's a great show), and SPIKE acquired the show after we had it. We've brought it back at least once (that might even be twice, I can't recall) due to fan clamour, but the show still didn't get viewers.
