I don't think you can "hang" Lego - little bitty pieces would separate and then you'd have a pile of Lego on the ground when it all comes crashing down. :D
Too bad it would look great in Blacklight :(

There's a guy they get to make stuff for shows and when he has to hang stuff, he builds supports into it.

Glue it together as you build it. Chloride works great, just buy it from a plastic supplier. :D

    Re: The LEGO has arrived!!!

To answer many questions - this lego set is the Imperial Star Destroyer, from the Star Wars collection (cue Darth Vader march!). Yes, it comes with a manual. Quite a thick one too. And it cost a bundle (see the www.lego.ca website and my shiny new paycheque :) ). Shipping wasn't too staggering - and I was surprised that there was no duty or brokerage costs - they must have a local distributor.

It will take me a while to assemble - I'm hoping that the lego is somewhat sorted into major sections, otherwise it's gonna be hell. :D There are two pedestal feet (made of lego, of course) that it will rest on - I'm sure they will be sturdy enough to take the weight of the entire thing. At over 3 feet wide, it would be scary to have this hanging from a ceiling! Once assembled, I will keep it assembled (sorry Sis!) and display it where kitty hopefully won't be interested in snooping. Being a spaceship geek, I'll oooh and aaah at it lots and lots. :D

But, you know what bugs me about Lego nowadays? They customize the pieces so much that there are parts that can't be used for anything BUT the thing it was made for. Like those ball things on the Star destroyer? What else could you use those for?
I agree with you Don - I had a blast as a kid playing with my lego - and most of it was regular sized stuff. My sisters and I even threw a hissy fit when my Mom tried to loan our lego out to some random cousin (like it would ever come back Mom, duh!). I love my old lego, but there's something about the special Star Wars collector's kits that I adore.

I wonder if you could wire it up with LEDs?

Heheheh - hubby was all for me buying this. I'll have to beat him off it with a stick or something to build it myself, lol. :D

Oh I know that feeling! Lego was one of my toys that I coveted, I kept it safe from being "borrowed" whenever I had to... otherwise that rag-tag fleet that trails Galactica would get smaller & smaller....

    Re: The LEGO has arrived!!!

My fingers are sore. We just spent the last, oh, 4 hours sorting lego pieces into obvious piles (well, tupperware), and then assembling the "spine" of the ship x 2, and then clicking those two pieces together. So now we have a large triangle lying on our guest bed hiding from kitty! :D

This thing is gonna take DAYS to build!!!! :)
