Re: Season 8 #1
Psi-Phi-Sam:Anyone know how many there are supposed to be in all?
According to the lettercolumn in issue #3 (which was just as good as the first two, by the way) Joss is now planning on forty or fifty issues. Very big season…

I had heard after the initial 20 something episodes for Season 8 they will sorta start over but it be known as Buffy The Vampire Slayer Volume 2 and start back at 1. Incidently I was in Best Buy recently and apparently if you purchase a Buffy or Angel DVD they give you a free Buffy comic but not sure if its from current series or old one and if so what issue.

Re: Still Stakin, the Buffy Comic Thread Season 8
So, what does everyone think of the season so far? I'm liking it so far. The characters sound right, and it's been fun seeing a few old "friends" again. One more Joss issue for now, and then the next arc is by Brian K. Vaughn.

Re: Still Stakin, the Buffy Comic Thread Season 8
I have only purchased one but hopefully where I get my books is suppose to be pulling them for me. Perhaps when I catch up with the older books he has pulled for me I will get to the Buffy comics. Part of me is thankful they are not lead into a actual tv season worth of episodes or I would be in trouble. Incidently according to my little birdies the next arc is to be involving Faith. For those of you who are collecting are you going for the regular covers or the variants or whatever you get or maybe one of each? For any of you who are able to get the variants what kinds of prices are you being charged? Some stores who state they they are not in business for money will charge same price as regular ones, some give them rfewards for loyal customers or people who reserve the book and others charge a arm and a leg for them. Depending on book involved and who they order from most times when it comes to variants the dealer gets them for same price as regular book but they have to order a certain quantity of regular to get one of the special.

I picked up the alternate cover to the first issue, just because it was the first issue, but for the rest have been getting the Jo Chen covers. My shop, and two shops I was browsing in Vancouver when I was down in April, are all charging cover price for the alternates.

Sorry, I'm on vacation, so I'm not checking email or these threads quite as often as I normally do. (I'm sitting at my brother's computer in Burnaby, at the moment…) However… I'll answer in both places: I get Buffy (and the rest of my comics) at Great White Entertainment in Pine Centre Mall. Tony, the manager, has been really good about keeping stock of the Buffy issues in the store, so most of the issues are still available, IIRC.

I didn't know about that. Thanks for the heads-up. By the way, Fabio Moon is the artist, so I'm thinking that Joss is perhaps the solo writer? (although, Fabio might just be putting in his two-cents worth, as co-creator…)

Re: Still Stakin, the Buffy Comic Thread Season 8
A quick heads-up: Issue #6, which starts a new four-part story focussing on Faith, should be in comic shops next (Whedon) Wednesday. The arc's written by Brian K. Vaughn.

Re: Still Stakin, the Buffy Comic Thread Season 8
I gotta say, I really enjoyed the Faith four-parter. The story showcased both her and Giles really well, and gave us a glimpse of what a Faith TV series might have been like. Next issue: Joss is back (at least for one issue…)!

LOL, the immortal . It was an episode in the last Season of Angel, Season 5 Episode 20, "The Girl in Question". "Angel and Spike's mission to help resurrect a demon gang leader in
Italy is made more complicated when they learn that their former love,
Buffy, might be in danger." She's in danger from Angel and Spikes point of view, as they hate the immortal. But in the episode, Buffy was dating the immortal. Well it appeared that way during the episode, but we now know what really happened, re: Buffy Season 8, Episode 1
