    New Shows????

When are we going to see some new TV shows on Space. where is Torchwood, Flash Gordon, even Heroes on Space, Movie like Blood the Last Vampire Hunter ,which is also a TV show. Torchwood is on it's 3rd season why is space not showing it. They seen to pick show that last for a season or less is what I see as new on space. What about Painkiller Jane also Lost could be on Space that's a 50/50 show now I think.

Don't get me wrong and I said it before I am a Star Trek fan a SG-1  fan too but enough is enough I want to see some new shows. alot of show are product in Canada for the American Station why don't we get them here and when you watch the credits for some of these show at the very end you see product by CHUM and Space channel of Canada, what's that all about??

I know these show cost money to get but with the money I am paying and everyone else you can't tell you don't have enough I know all the other stuff to for what the money goes to but Space needs to change, start produce your own shows. Look at the Scifi Channel in the states and what there doing, you tell me we can't do, what there doing up here. I just want te see more new stuff on space the brite spot on Space rate now is BSG and I just hope you don't trun that into a continues repeat for thre next 10 - 20 years.

I want Dark Shadows 1966-1971 ABC-Tv series 1,225 half hour episodes on Space

    screw the new shows

Perhaps the new Dark Shadows movie in 2010 with Johnny Depp as Vampire Barnabas Collins will create a interest in the old Tv show and make Space get up off there @rses

    also

1970 MGM movie House of Dark Shadows

1971 MGM movie Night of Dark Shadows

    Re: New Shows????

That's also what I mean, new shows and there are tons of old shows too, that I have never seen either so why are we not getting them.  Shows like: Six Million Dollar Man, The Original Bionic Woman, the list is to long and yes alot of these shows only last a season if that. So why can't we get those too and repeat them over and over again like space does now with some of the shows that are product lately.

    Re: New Shows????

SPACE has created new shows ever since we launched. Usually a couple a year. The last few shows, Charlie Jade and Blood Ties were well received.

Right now we are in a period of transition, as we have been purchased by CTV... We'll be getting more programs that are 'new to us' like Robotech, and other 'older shows' as well, probably launching in the fall...

As for 'new to us' programs, yes, there are several shows in development. Further details when I can announce them.

As for Torchwood, (and Dr. Who for that matter) - the rights are owned by the CBC. Heroes and Flash Gordon are also tied up with other stations.

    Re: New Shows????

So, CBC has the rights to those series, which right now are basically pre-empted with the hockey play-offs.  fair enough.

My question then is are there plans to air the Terry Goodkind series being developed "Wizards First Rule"?  I think we've all seen enough of Relic Hunter and HHoF etc. that there could easily be room made to broadcast these new shows.  Yes, there are planty of older shows that could use a breath of life, but i have to agree with the sentiment that picking up shows that had short runs (for whatever reason), and never really finished up, is really bad form.  Would you go to a book store and purchase a best-seller, knowing that the last third or more has been ripped out and you will never have a concluede story?  think about it.

    Re: New Shows????

We know about Terry's new series, and we'll see.

I disagree with you about some of the short-lived series. Many shows that are only a season or two have loyal followings- Firefly, G vsE, Millenium, The Prisoner to name a few. Even Enterprise, which had 4 seasons, is a 'short-lived series' in some fans eyes.

I don't think the book analogy works...

Not sure if that character will be cast in the new upcoming movie as Quentin Collins(wasn't he a werewolf ?) didn't appear in in the original T.V. series until a few years in and in the revival series the actor who played Barnabas' brother Jeremiah in the 1790 storlyine was to return in season 2 to play Quentin in the present day BUT DAMN NBC CANCELLED THE SERIES!!!!  and I am guessing the movie will start off the way the 1991 version did in the present day and than giving us the back story of Barnabas I can also see a few sequels coming out of this movie but it will be interesting to see what actors get cast as the Collins Family members it seems a major movie vet always is cast as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard  Joan Bennett (66-71) and Jean Simmons (1991)  so I could see Dame Judi Dench play that role but it will be interesting to see who plays witch Angelique and Victoria Winters/Josette duPres

    Re: New Shows????

    Mark,

I though a few months ago it was determined Space was going to be airing the new Flash Gordon show but now you are saying it's not. Has something changed or since nothing has been ironed on where and when to air it is not been treated as a show Space will air.

    Re: New Shows????

Flash Gordon was to run on SPACE, but it is a casualty of 'who owns the rights?' that's going on right now between CTV and Rogers.

If we get FG, I'll let you know.

after watching the 3D cgi Beowulf, i could easily see Angelina Jolie cast as Angelique.

    Re: New Shows????

Hmmm, Angelina Jolie as the witch Angelique would be quite interesting indeed it would be a first for a raven haired Angelique

Lara Parker(66-71) Lysette Anthony(91) both blonde Angeliques

there was a rumour that Jennifer Aniston UGH!!!!!!! a fan of the series wanted a part in the Johnny Depp movie if that was to happen bye bye Angelina Jolie LOL

but I am looking forward to see if Johnny Depp will seek out big name talents for the characters or go with unknowns

    Re: New Shows????

I want B5 back like bad.  I'd also drop Star trek to a comfortable level, like a series a day TOS for monday, DS9 for tues, etc. I like my Star Trek  in doses not a daily over dose.

There are so many old series, anime that could be played ( Star Blazers for an example, Robotech/Macross is nice, but not the best series), also add more anime. as a block on Friday nights or such.

I'd like to see old doctor who. does Cbc own the rights to that as well? or Blake 7...
