Supernatural - Ghostfacers
I would have written "Spoilers" in my subject caption if I thought that there was anything worth spoiling in this episode but there's not. As a fan I wait six weeks or more for new episodes & this is what the writers came up with? Let's see the entire episode consisted of really lame shots at reality TV shows, the writers' strike and various horror movies (especially Blair Witch - gee that hasn't been done before). All in all, "the worst episode ever" to use a phrase from Comic Book Guy. This was one of the shows that I could generally count on to be consistently good week after week and now even it has let me down. I noticed that Supernatural has been renewed for Season 4 but by the looks of this week's episode if the rest of the season is going to be like this, the CW might want to re-think their decision.

Re: Supernatural - Ghostfacers
Since most Space TV viewers may not have seen the episode yet, I will not comment on specific details. CityTv shows the same episode on Thursdays. I thought it was a good episode, but it did not further the existing plot story lines of the current season, but then the "fairy tale' episode didn't either. It seems like the May 5th episode will do this, however references were made.... As usual, the relationship between the two main characters is great. If any of you have ever seen the "Celebrity Paranormal Project", this episode is sort of a spoof on that. I found it to be quite funny. Even though again, it didn't really further existing plots, it was still a funny episode and worth watching. I was not disappointed. I am however disappointed at SPACE has moved Supernatural to Wednesday at 10pm ... there are already three major primetime t.v. shows in the same slot.

Well, I didn't mind it. Not great but it had its cute moments. At least it wasn't a rerun. I have found though that every now and then they do these little side episodes that don't really seem to take them anywhere, sort of "just for fun timekillers" so I'm assuming next week they'll be back to the main storyline. Especially as they brought up the "2 more months" so the deadline is quickly approaching. One bad (relatively speaking) episode does not a total disaster make.

I do not know what you are refering to when you say the fairy tale episode. As for stand alone episodes I do enjoy them if they are good stand alones but alas this was not. That being said hopefully this means the rest of the episodes this season will be kick asp.

The episode where the comatose girl made others relive Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, et al.

I might agree with your last comment if not for the fact that this entire season IMHO has had a lot more misses than hits. Kripke has indicated in interviews that he wants fans to be patient & that he has this 5 year arc planned out but to me Season 3 doesn't seem to have any direction. Moreover, the addition of the incredibly annoying "Bela" to the cast doesn't help matters. To me this last episode was pretty close to the last straw for me as a fan. There are a lot of other shows that have made parodies of reality TV (e.g., Doctor Who) and have done it much better. Given that there are only a few episodes left in the season, Kripke et al would have been better off leaving this episode aside and work on episodes that contribute to the overall arc. I would have rather they put another week into doing that & putting up with another re-run than watching "Ghostfacers". I guess having watched really great sci-fi recently (Torchwood Season 2 & the first eps of Season 4 Doctor Who) I am expecting more from shows like Supernatural. If the rest of the season 3 continues to underwhelm me then there are a lot of other sci-fi shows to watch whether on TV or the internet.

Re: Supernatural - Ghostfacers
I don't know what ratings have been like this year, but quality has definitely been down. If they keep on like this, they might not make it five years. That being said, "Ghostfacers" is not the worst Supernatural episode I've ever seen. This season has had way more than its share of stinkers.

Re: Supernatural - Ghostfacers
I completely agree with you regarding the Bela character. A complete waste of time. The only reason I thought they may have introduced her was because she could possibly hold the key for saving Dean.... (May 5th's episode touches on a possibility of saving Dean, but in a different context) ... however, the whole "chasing Bela" storyline for the colt is rather annoying. Thanks to the person who clarified by what I meant by the "fairy tale" episode. I really couldn't think of another way to describe it, so thanks for clarifying the episode I meant. I agree, the season has not been exceptional, but at least at the bare minimum, there's some good "eye candy" to look at on a weekly basis!!

Re: Supernatural - Ghostfacers
Like mentioned above thanxs for the clarification re the fairy tale episode and in someways I have to admit some of the season was not that great but the thing I find interesting about the show is when I read the blurb in tv listings I always find it interesting to see how that will translate into a episode and usally not the way I expect and in some cases I am happy with the way it is, Also as stated above not every episode can be a must see and its just my hope that if they have to do must not see episodes they are standalone episodes and not ones vital to the story of that season or in the long run series. Some people would say The Trickster episodes are standalones but I think in someways especially the last one it works for the overall story or at least to be that way.

Re: Supernatural - Ghostfacers
I agree with Naomi... wasn't a great episode, but it definitely wasn't the worst so far. For a "stand-alone" story off the main arc, it could have been much worse. I guess most people have seen it by now so I'm not giving anything away, but one thing I've found interesting about this show is, in this episode for example, Sam is completely at the mercy of the evil spirit. It has the opportunity to kill him, but, in typical Dr. Evil fashion, chooses to tell Sam the story of its existence and kills Corbett instead, leaving Dean time to find and rescue his brother. For two guys who make it their business to track and destroy evil supernatural entities, they were certainly caught flat-footed on this one. I know it wouldn't be good to kill off one of the two main stars, but Sam being in peril - or lack of it - in this case is a little see-thru. We, the viewers, knew Sam was never in any real danger.

Re: Supernatural - Ghostfacers
I totally agree that season 3 has been pretty brutal. Most of the episodes are time fillers and they don't really move the story along. It's been really disappointing to me for I really love this show. As for this episode, very disappointed, Sam and Dean weren't even in it for the first ten minutes. and after the writers strike I really wanted it to be a good one and further the story line especially after the last episode I'm pretty sure it was when they were both in jail and we finally met the demon that wanted Sam dead. and as for bela she truly is a waste of character, she'd be even half bearable if she didn't have that stupid accent. But I don't like her at all with or without it. On the other hand, I love Ruby and I wish she was in more episodes. So hopefully they can save the show and I really hope Kripke is reading the chat rooms and taking the fans opinons into account otherwise it may not last till season 5 and that would be sad if it just got cancelled without and ending, I never liked it when that happens and it usually happens to the good shows too.

Re: Supernatural - Ghostfacers
I didnt mind it, plus Im and AJ Buckley fan And season 3 Im good with, there were episodes in both season 1 and 2 that i didn't like, im thinking I may have like season 1 more than 2. But they have episodes I don't like too much. Do not like the character of Bela, however Ruby I don't mind. This season I think two of the best episodes was Jus In Bello and No Rest For the Wicked though I liked many of the other ones those were two of my favourites, in terms of overall action, character interaction, etc
