    The BA in Toronto

This afternoon I had the pleasure of sitting in on a "Bad Astronomy" lecture given by Phil Plait, the Bad Astronomer himself. I found out about this through a York U newsletter. The lecture was a part of this year's RASC Annual Meeting. In his talk, he covered a number of topics from his "Bad Astronomy" book, such as egg balancing (he balanced 5 or 6 before the discussion), the seasons, meteors and bad astronomy in movies. He also mentioned today being the 100th anniversary of the "Tunguska Event". The talk was finished off with a Q & A.  His talk is done with a nice blend of info and humour. If others get a chance to hear him speak, enjoy! Smile

Seeing as this was held at York U, it gave me a chance to wander around campus, seeing changes since my days there. I finished it off with a few beers in the pub, where I minored in pub and darts, while a York student. Wink
