What's the bottom like? Particularly, the landng bay where the blockade runner was sucked into. Is it open, or is there a hatch door?

hehe, I used to make guns out of Lego, but it's not really a sturdy enough material. Usually I made phasers from Star Trek, or the laser guns & communicator from Space:1999.

I'll have to look ahead in the assembly manual to find that out...you can't see the underside of the final thing on the outside of the box...

Over 3100 pieces...and most of those are miniature! Two of us, working for 4 hours together, and we're only on page 27 of 200some pages in the manual!!

    Already do!

Something cool about this set - there's some powerful magnets that will be holding entire sections together - so that's how they hold the sections that are angled together...

Magnets?? Really. Yeah I wondered how they would hold together, at that size....

I'm not sure if magnets is cheating.

I always had a a little pet peeve about "cheating" with Lego. As in, no "tape" or breaking pieces so they'd "work".

I guess magnets are alright though.... :D

Pretty powerful magnets too! I'm thinking once 8 of these click to 8 others of these, it's gonna be a b!tch to separate if we've made an error...

They're just jpg images. Should be no problem viewing them. I just checked and they are still there.

How is that ISD coming along?

I just found this, if Lego produced it, I'd want one!

Serenity (This thing is 33" long !!!)

    And her crew

Here is the home page with more pix.
