The punch that will be delivered when it revealed that Baltar is a cylon will be the same punch as when Adama and Cain discussed plans to assasinate each other.

The show will not be lessen by if Baltar turns out to be Cylon. I think the XO will have a field day with the news.

The effect on the people will be to let the military make all the decisions from that point on.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Baltar is swimming in his own decrepidness as a human being. He is no doubt a Cylon wanna be but ( ahem ) he's just to White & Nerdy ...lol

Besides his character is much more interesting as a human with a complex than it would be as a Cylon with a complex. Which by the way the Cylons have because they are machines trying to be more like humans  ... go figure ...

Still waiting for the appearance of the Cylon who wants to help humankind survive. Find out who that character is and we may well have our power mole . Remember , Adama wanted the newborn hybrid to be killed. What about Roslin, despite her initail negative reaction to the newborn, her maternal instincts to hold the baby were overpowering . ...hmmmmmm ...

What I am more interested in is who are the Primes that are controlling everything and if there is an actual "controller" (their God perhaps). This would make a great killer end episode if they get to meet their God and it turns out that it is indeed Baltar! This is one of the unanswered questions about the whole show....who set it all in motion to make the humanoid models in the first place? Definitely not the grunts (Centurions), then who? There must be a Prime Prime that is as yet unrevealed. It would sort of be like the last of the reptilian Cylons in the original series.....

Tell me again why Baltar wouldn't be a great canidate to be a cyclon.

Because as a human, his actions make him a failure; as a Cylon, his actions make him a brilliant double agent.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

I've been thinking that Baltar is a cylon since, well.....when he "wasn't" ripped to shreads in the mini like he should have been. Otherwise he apparently walked out of that house with nothing but a scratch on his forehead.  I'd like to know what happened between the house being demolished and Baltar running across the field towards the raptor.

Other cylon candidates.....Tori Foster, Cally, Starbuck, and Jammer all come to mind.  Used to suspect Gaeta, but not so sure any more, I think he might just be a red herring.

My best guess is Ellen Tigh.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Baltar cannot be a Cylon, it just doesnt make sense and is not possible. If he was a Cylon then why was Six needed? if he was a Cylon then why didnt Six know? He is not a Cylon - it makes absolutely no sense. Baltar is a human, his character was written that way and they had much fun playing with him as a human - it wouldnt make sense nor be effective to make him a Cylon - if they do then thats just poor writing for shock value.

I always thought Ellen was a Cylon, mostly because of that episode when they had someone (was it zarek?) captive and then inexplicably he was let out. It hinted that Ellen would let him out, but it was also what the Cylons wanted.

Also Adama (not sure which) is maybe a Cylon. Remember when Leobin told Kara that Adama was a Cylon, and the Laura threw him out the airlock. So far Leobin hasnt lied about anything. (also remember the grey haired Commander Adama in Baltars dreams that drowned the Cylon child)

Also, Kara cannot be a Cylon, otherwise how did she have a child? It doesnt make sense. End of story.

Someone in this thread was talking about their hopes for a Cylon that wanted the humans to survive, well there already is one - Six. The Six in Baltar's head always wanted humans to survive, her plan was never to kill them off. They need to serve God's purpose.

On a side note i really want the Six in Baltar's head to come back, she was commanding, authorative, seductive, and strong - the other Six is compassionate and seemingly weak. I want the strong one back.

Laura could be a Cylon, that'd make for an interesting twist, but im not sure they'd be able to pull that off well.

Yea , I still think the Billy character is a candidate for a Cylon.

Probably just in a cameo, though, as the actor apparently didn't want to sign a long-term contract (which is apparently why his character was killed off).

... sigh ... another brilliant career move ...

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

How about Kara's daughter? If she was a real hybrid they sure wouldn’t have pushed her down the stairs and take chance to arm her… Just look at the importance they give to Sharon’s kid. They sure wouldn’t have tried to mess with her life…

Or maybe a real human, she is... Hmmm! And it doesn't mather if she gets hurt...

    Wonder, wonder

Wink [;)] Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Given the welcome and slightly twisted nature of this show, my vote goes to Tigh being a Cylon, perhaps (like Brother Carvil), he is one of the older human-types, as the eye thing is downright weird.
I feel that the entire Kara thing will be revealed as being a Cylon experiment aimed at co-opting humans. Who better to try it on than Starbuck, the heroic pilot of Gallatica?
BTW: I just recognized the actor playing the Cylon who is engaged in trying to turn Kara as having been in a recent pivotal role on Davinci's Inquest.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

I truthfully don't think any more of the main characters are cylons, aside from the ones that have been already revealed.  It's a plot twist that has been used a few times before in the series, and to great effect, but to do it continuously will just get boring.  Any new cylons introduced will be characters who we do not know yet, or ones with much smaller roles up to now, which can be even better.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

I just read this theory on someone (or something that may/may not be a Cylon):

You know that dog that sits by the yellow bowl? The dog that never seems to go anywhere? He's a Cylon. You watch - that dog's got shifty eyes.

Haha - funny theory. Check out more of this fan's theories: http://www.mediavillage.com/jmentr/2006/10/16/Battlestar-0-16-06/
