    Toaster44:
I think Anders friend the red head is the cylon, she is always in the action and in the back ground, listening and waiting to see what is going on. I remember in season two, there was a red headed cylon you always seen her from the back walking away in the scene. She was in the episode when Anders was to set a bomb in the parking garage beneath the cylons.I know I have seen this actress before in another series but I just can't remember which one. My other candidate for cylon is also an actor that had his own series (SciFi) when I find his name and info I will post it

The other cylon is Sebastian Spence from First Wave now a viper pilot.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

A few things to consider.  I believe that any character with a verifiable history cannot be a Cylon.  Especially those whose pasts have been intermingled.  Recall, Boomer's whole family supposedly died in some mining accident.  During one episode, Baltar drugs Galen and forces Boomer to disclose that there are 8 Cylons were / are deployed in the fleet (at the time before settling on New Caprica).  Seeing how we know of 7 models already, I'm thinking only 1 Cylon model is left deployed in the fleet.  It has not been established what the significance of the final 5 Cylon humanoid models is.  All we know is that they *are* significant - which leads me to believe the final Cylon in the fleet will be a "biggie" and possibly not a secondary character or a "sleeper" agent.  Also, the present 7 Cylon models do not know what the other 5 look like (at least D'Anna does not), which means on New Caprica it is possible the final 1 Cylon model deployed in the fleet might have stay deployed.  Finally, we know the present 7 Cylon humanoid models by and large cannot procreate, so it may be safe to assume the final 5 cannot either.  In Athena's case, it sounds like she is the first and that her offspring is very unique / significant as a result.

Here is my break-down as to who can be a Cylon:

William Adama - NO, too much history in military, had sons, would not make sense plot-wise, Baltar Cylon test would have revealed (first candidate)
Laura Roslin - NO, too much history in politics, would not make sense plot-wise, Baltar Cylon test would have revealed (first candidate)
Gauis Baltar - MAYBE, SEE BELOW
Lee Adama - NO, too much history with family, has father
Kara Thrace - NO, too much history with Adama family
Karl Agathon - NO, if yes would be no Cylon / Human hybrid
Saul Tigh - NO, leader of the resistance on New Caprica, tortured pretty badly by Cylons, too much history in military
Galen Tyrol - NO, established in one episode with Brother Cavil
Felix Gaeta - MAYBE, no history, but too obvious, probably red herring
Anastasia Dualla - NO, to quote the actress in an interview: "That would mean every hot girl on BSG is a Cylon"
Tom Zarek - NO, too much history as dissident
Ellen - NO, too much history with Saul unless she is a replica or a real person, too obvious, red herring
Billy - NO, contract disputes with employers usually means you are never coming back (and he is no David Duchoveny)
Kat - NO, too much history as recently established
Anders - NO, leader of resistance on Caprica, too much history as sports icon
    Cally - NO, too pregnant
Admiral Cain - NO, given the immense harm she has done to the Cylons, too much history in military - but this one would absolutely blow my mind
Sebastian Spence - MAYBE, I agree with the comment about anyone having their own SCI-FI show

On a side-note, I think it would be a shame / waste if Sebastian Spence was not given a significant role in BSG.  He has proven acting ability, charisma and star-power.

You may notice, I chickened out from saying a definite YES because I do not think we have enough info at the moment.  However, if I were to venture a guess I'd say Baltar is a Cylon.  However, there is too much contradictory evidence thus far.  Baltar has too much history as famous scientist.  Baltar's relationship / manipulation by Caprica Six on Caprica triggering the destruction of mankind would be trivialized / nonsensical if he were a Cylon.  Baltar is way too eccentric to be a Cylon - he is extremely emotive and seems to represents base human traits - positive and negative.  Still, Baltar walked out of his cottage without a scratch after the nuclear blast.  Baltar seems to be able to think or "project" like the Cylons - with Six-In-The-Head being a possible manifestation of that.  Baltar seems to have earned a special place amongst the Cylons (currently its lapdog / sexy pool boy but he may move up the hierarchy) - he has not been killed yet and I don't think any other Humans were able to tag along from New Caprica.  Finally, the Hybrid recognizes Baltar as being some one of significance or "intelligence".

To end, my posts are too long.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Well done, Leoben! I like your reasoning.

My sense of things given the episode where Caprica reveals that they don't talk about the other five makes me think that perhaps there are no more sleeper agents. Here are my (admittedly lame) theories:

    1. They already live on earth where they reign like Greek Gods (having taken a page from the polytheistic religions of the colonies, therefore when battlestar reaches earth, it will be in our past, during the greco-roman empire).

    2. They were too successful as humans and have become traitors, like Sharon, to their people.

    3. They are imprisoned.

    4. They were imperfect models who never formed a convincing artificial humans.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

    A few thoughts...

Galen Tyrol - NO, established in one episode with Brother Cavil

I say he's a possible. He suspects he is...

Felix Gaeta - MAYBE, no history, but too obvious, probably red herring

     I suspect he is.

Anastasia Dualla - NO, to quote the actress in an interview: "That would mean every hot girl on BSG is a Cylon"

A great suspect- hiding in plain sight. On the bridge...

Anders - NO, leader of resistance on Caprica, too much history as sports icon

    He's a possible for me...

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

I've said it before and I've said it again, the writers are done with playing the idea that someone else already in the fleet is a cylon sleeper agent.  That was done already to great effect with Boomer, and also Brother Cavel.  However reusing that idea would be just lame writing and I highly doubt it will be done again.  We've progressed past the point where everyone is suspicious of the next being a cylon and to return would be silly.

Will we ever meet new cylons?  Absolutely.  We met the hybrid and she had never been seen before.  And the next ones that are introduced will not have been seen before either.  That's the way I like it personally; the characters they have developed so far are excellent and in many ways having one be a cylon would just take away from everything they developed.

Just my theory.  And I highly doubt that Baltar is a cylon.  He is so perfect as a flawed human, and it should stay that way.  I think the final 5 are more important than him, but he has a huge role to play in the unfolding of future events.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

I'll agree with all the No's and maybe's except Gaeta. He has been too pivitol a role in all seasons ei setting up the software firewall at the beginning of season 2 and helping the resistance on New Caprica. He has too much intell to be a Cylon. I would be floored if he was a sleeper Cylon.

The real Cylon 100% no doubt is none other than Gauis Baltar. I think he was human up until Caprica was nuked at which point his consciousness was somehow copied into the Cylon model Balter without him being aware of it. He discovered Sharron was a Cylon - didn't tell. Sharron carried out her programming and shot Adama. His hallucinations of Six are far too real to be a psychosis. He's almost gone completely mad obsessing over the fact he might in fact be a Cylon. The episode that clinched it for me was Ep 218 Downloaded. Six and Sharron are downloaded on Caprica and Six now has hallucinations of Baltar in exactly the same fashion. Too freaky for me. He has to be Cylon. Watch that episode again and let me know what you think then...

    Cheers

I like this line of reasoning (I think Kitane said something similar in another thread, but I could be mistaken)...the "real" Baltar, the human...dies on Caprica in the initial attack. The Baltar we see now is somehow merged with the Cylons (well, Six anyway) and no longer completely human...maybe it's how he retains his completely selfish, self-centered outlook (and is incapable of fathering a baby with Six or D'Anna). I always found it funny that Six was destroyed in a "nuclear" blast, but managed to shield Baltar by standing in front of him (I am assuming that's what killed her & not just the glass/debris, since we don't actually see her death scene & the moments immediately following.)

Following through on that line of reasoning, it is "possible" that some of the characters we think could in no way be a Cylon, might actually be - their "established" backstories (political, military) proving false - in which case anyone, including Adama, would be a consideration. He could have been human when he fathered Lee, but maybe on a mission (i.e. the "Bulldog" incident), something similar to Baltar's fate happened to him. Just throwing it out there for debate, folks...

This "Five" thing is throwing me for a loop, but keeping me interested. I just hope that this is fleshed out in some way that will blow the viewers' minds and not be a big letdown.

Possible...but with the pious Brother turning out to be Cylon, it'd be a kicker to have the fleet doctor turn out to be one too. Cylons administering to the body & soul of the humans. Almost ironic...

Besides...he's from "Danger Bay", bud...they kicked out all their Cylons long ago. Wink

No they didn't.  That is why that show had all of that robotic acting.

Nope. I don't think Baltar died.

It's been a long time since I watched the mini, but as I remember it, just before the blast Six tells him to get down, then we see her embrace him, which I took as her shielding him against the oncoming blast that was coming up behind her. Some are pretty convinced he wouldn't have come out of it unscathed, but I've suspended my disbelief enough to think he did because of what she did. As well I believe that he talks about her saving his life on Caprica a couple of times in later episodes.

My theory involves what happened in that moment of the blast, and the download data that she would have sent out the instant she died going through Baltar etc etc.

I'm one that's believed for quite some time now, and have been saying for quite some time now too, that we're finished seeing anymore of the already established characters being revealed as Cylon, at least I really really hope so. It would be very trite at this point imo. As well, for me anyway, I want Baltar to be totally human (well except for the part of Six that's inside his head). It makes the character much more interesting and tragic.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

The red head I am talking about is Alisen Down known to us as Jean Barolay . My reason for her is there was a red headed cylon her shape and size in an episode,(not sure which episode) I remember her walking around in the episode where there were toasters planting trees in a court yard. You never see her face, only that red hair, and I do not remember ever seeing any red headed cylons in any other episodes.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

There are many characters that I feel should be human. Baltar is one of them.

His arc is that of a flawed, self-centered, genius.

His character would be weakened, not strengthened if he were to be revealed as a Cylon.

Gaeta, Tyrol or Dee would all be strengthened if they proved to be Cylon, particularly if they were not aware of their Cylon nature.

The lovely thing about this show is that there are still slepper cylons (possibly) out there, and this long dormant plotline  will, I am sure, become more prominent in the seasons to come.

(BTW- I have no secret inside info on this- purely speculation!)

The one thing that I admire about this series is that so much is left up to interpretation and point of view. We each capture different aspects and undertones from each episode. So many strings are left hanging. We are left to draw our own conclusions until the writers tie some up. Keeps us guessing. Keeps things fresh.

We don't have to go back to the first episode to the scene at Baltar's house, because they do a little recap for us in Season 2 Ep 18: Downloaded. There's no doubt that the house that Baltar and Six were in was destroyed in the nuclear attacks, D'Anna states so when Six is ressurected. The blast was enough to kill Six, so how would Baltar be spared - Six sheilding him just isn't enough. In this episode Six is ressurected and now Baltar is her hallucination. Is this perhaps part of her new programming? You can't say she's gone mad, because she hasn't had time to - he manifests to her seconds after her ressurection.

I think there is room for one more established character to be revealed and it looks like the writers are taking us there by having Baltar obsess over the final five Cylon models - he's been doing this for that last several episodes. He's the only human obsessed with the notion he may be a Cylon. Throughout the series, Balter has questioned himself, suspected himself of being a Cylon - even to the point of having Doc Connel perform a brain scan. I think it would be fascinating to see where the writers decide to take the Balter character if and when he is revealed to be a Cylon.

    Look forward to it!!
