Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Given the fact that the characters of William Adama and Saul Tigh for have known each other for 40 years - since the time of the first Cylon war - indicates that at some point Ronald Moore decided to deviate from the aforementioned position.  Given Tigh's age and the fact that Cylon Humanoid models 9-12 (Anders, Tigh, Tyrol and what's her name) were all on New Caprica, the most likely scenario is that the Cylons chose individuals that they felt would not be suspected of being traitors and based the 4 new models on them.  Once that determination was made, Anders, Tyrol, Tigh and what's her name were probably rounded up so that their DNA and memories (after all they are just chemicals) could be harvested for use and then disposed of afterward.  Plus, it would explain the Cylons lack of interest in Tyrol's child, given his wife was pregnant before they got there.   The "real" versions of the above mentioned four are likely in unmarked graves somewhere on New Caprica.

With that in mind, the 13th Cylon would have to be someone who was on New Caprica.  Gaeta and Balthar would be too obvious   Long story made short, I would put my money on...President Roslin.  She could blame any anomalies in her blood on her "cancer."

It's the president, she's on the same wave link as them all. Keeps having dreams with them, she is one of them. She felt a sharp pain when the power went out, and it's obvious. :)

Tongue TiedPatriot Resource gives a link to an interview in The Chicago Tribune.

     http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/2008/04/ron-moore-on-ba.html

Apparantly Ronald Moore has stated (therefore no spoiler!)  that no one in the "Last Supper" photo is the final cylon.  That puts out Adama, Roslyn, etc.  He already said after season 1 that neither of those two would be anyways.  It wouldn't flow right with the storey.

Anyone still laughing that it might be the Battlestar or in the Battlestar itself?  Big Smile

I'm starting to think Gaeta again.......he fits in with the other four.  Always helping the humans (on New Caprica).  And something about when Baltar whispered something to him when Gaeta went in to interogate him....maybe telling him he knew who he was???  Tongue Tied

    Never know.....

Thanks for that article! I loved the little interactive last supper pic.

Well, then, there goes my apollo theory.

what gives? Dualla? Gaeta? I still think they will do the bait and switch with Gaeta.

Also, Is there a meaning to the watchtower song? Why chose that particular one?

Jammer is a Cylon, a model who doesn't know it.

They find  the guy last year confused and in a weapons locker surrounded by dead people and now in the webisodes he's suddenly being treated nicely by Doral . . . . it all adds up!!!

Jammer was blown into space by an airlock, so it could work....

He'd probably be very angry.  Poor guy.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

    My prediction: President Laura Roslin.

Before I explain why I chose her, I will admit there is one thing that makes me doubt its her… that is, her aide Tory is a cylon and I don't think BOTH are. Other than that, my reasons…

My first clue: I know I’m blowing this out of proportion but its what got me thinking it was her… In the miniseries, talking to Apollo she used the phrase “collective asses.” In season 3, one of the Brother Cavil’s used that phrase and said “asses” with the exact same tone as Laura. I know that’s not much but I always knew Anders was a cylon because he used the phrase “what kind of people are you?” The same thing cylon Doral said in the mini-series.

Clue #2: Crosswords Part II: There was a fleet-wide power surge right before the cylon fleet showed up, a second before the power surge Laura winced in pain, took off her glasses and put her hands over her forehead. As if she was having a migraine. What ever caused the surge affected her.

Clue #3: Blood from the cylon baby cured her cancer. Was her blood compatible with that of a cylon half-breed? She had cancer, maybe her blood was low on some kind of cylon-type-protein she couldn’t get from other humans. If the baby-cyclon’s blood was compatible with just anyone why didn’t they look more into that? The fleet was already low on medical supplies. You’d think this would be a gold mine.

Clue #4: This one is a little more complicated. The show always opens up “THEY HAVE A PLAN”. I never liked that phrase. It fit for the first season but it doesn’t really have any significance anymore.

Here is my theory: From day 1 the cylons have not been after the humans. The cylons want to find earth. Their plan was not to wipe out the human race, but to force the humans into a position where they (the humans) would look for earth. The cylons don’t believe they (the cylons) can find it on their own (for whatever reason) they know only the humans can find it.

From the get-go it was Laura Roslin who was persuading Adama, and others, to find earth. Adama wanted to keep fighting until she talked him out of it. She even got to Starbuck, sending Kara back to get the Arrow. She talked 1/3 of the fleet into going with her to Kobol. Adama even admitted that if it weren’t for the President he would have turned out to be more like Admiral Cain.

Other notes: Adama is like the father figure for what’s left of the human race. There’s something between him and Roslin. Maybe she’ll be like a mother for the cylons. And I think the two groups joining is eventually where everything will end up.

One more guess… how will it be discovered she’s a cylon? I think at some point she’ll die. When the fleet finally makes it to Earth she’ll be there to greet them.

    Just a guess.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

Up until this post I have been in the 'Laura can't be a Cylon' camp.

I love your point #4! It is elegant, and would imply good plotting and stroytelling.

Love your last point too- I know 'a dying leader' will take them to earth... but what if that leader dies, and is then revealed?!

Man, that's nice food for thought.

Good job, and the first time I've wavered on Roslin... yeah... you could be right!

    (I still think it's Lee, though <g>...)

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

If Ronald Moore is telling the truth - and not just trying to mislead - and the fifth cylon is not featured in the so-called Last Supper photo (thus excluding my previous prediction of President Roslin), then I would have to guess that it will be either Felix Gaeta or Tom Zarek; I still contend that the final five were created while on New Caprica.

Actually, I just watched the trailer attached to the Chicago Tribune interview with Ronald Moore and personally I just think he frakking with people when he says that fifth (or is it the 13th) Cylon is not in the Last Supper photo.  I still think that it is President Roslin.  You hear Number Six in the trailer say "you are leading these people to their end."  My money is totally on Roslin.

Re: Who do you think is a Cylon

I have two theories on who is a Cylon. Let's look at who the Cylons we know of:

    "Significant Seven"
    Brother Cavil: Male
    Leoben Conoy: Male
    Simon: Male
    Number 5: Male
    Number 3: Female
    Number 6: Female
    Number 8: Female

    "Final Five"
    Saul Tigh: Male
    Sam Anders: Male
    Galen Tyrol: Male
    Tory Foster: Female
    ?

So, of eleven known Humanoid Cylons, it is established that there are seven males and four females. I'd find it likely that the missing "Final Five" member might well be female, but of course this isn't assured by any means.

"Significant Seven" Cylons are unable to recognize a "Final Five", for reasons as yet unknown. Cavil did not seem to recognize Tigh was a Cylon during his imprisonment and torture on New Caprica. Boomer didn't seem to know Tyrol was a Cylon and they were physically intimate with each other. Of course, at the time she didn't even know she was a Cylon herself.

Of the four known "Final Five", ALL were on the surface of New Caprica during the occupation. It's possible that the fifth was as well.

Galen Tyrol, a known "Final Five", had a child with Cally. This means Cally is NOT a Cylon, since it was established that two Cylons could not have a child together.

Saul Tigh has a 'history' going back 40 years, to the first Cylon War. It is possible that the missing member of the "Final Five" also has a history exceeding what we've come to expect.

The four known "Final Five" all heard "All Along The Watchtower" and were compelled to gather in a secured area, where they all realized their true nature. This makes me think the missing Cylon was NOT on Galactica at that time, possibly not even anywhere in the fleet. Possibly even dead.

So, who "fits" with the above and could quite possibly be our missing "Final Five" member?

    ELLEN TIGH

Think about it. It actually makes a lot of sense. She even passed Baltar's Cylon Detector, which the good Doctor had fidled with so that everyone passes. Childless, since no Cylon Couple could bear children. Ellen and Saul together could have supported each other's "backstory" when they arrived 40 years ago, and presumably forgot they were Cylons. Saul killed her on New Caprica, so of course she couldn't be around to hear the song and make her way to the other "Final Five" meeting.

So where is another of her model? On Earth of course. Hehe

My other theory is rather more grand. Two ideas led me to it. The first, is that EVERYTHING Leoben Conoy learned from the Hybrids and repeated to Kara, Roslin, etc, is true. The second is "This has all happened before, and will happen again".

    EVERYONE IS A CYLON

Humanity died out millenia before. A grand cycle repeats itself over and over. 12 Humanoid Cylons seed a world, and are the 12 gods of the pre-Colonial civilization. This civilization (Kobol) rises and falls, and ultimately 12 "tribes" leave to colonize 12 other worlds, where they ultimately develop robotic servants that rebel against them. These robots, after a long war and armistice, form their own civilization. Five of the original Cylons remain with these Colonies, and seven of the original Cylons go to join with the robots and create a new Cylon race. The cycle repeats, over and over, until a reunited Cylon Hybrid species manages to make its way to Earth, where the lost "Thirteenth Tribe" of 'true' humans went to, at the onset of the first cycle. The cycle repeats over and over, because the 'new' Cylons and the 'Colonials' are unable to reconcile to the fact that they are, indeed, all Cylons, and so fail to make it to Earth.

    Think about that.

Of course, BSG could just as easily end with Saul Tigh coming out of the shower after Ellen wakes up from dreaming the last four years...
