Re: The Official 2007 SPACEYS Thread

I think this year's acceptance speeches prove that the Stargate serieseses must have the most fun sets in television history. These people are just nuts. In a good way.Big Smile "In your face Jack Bauer! Wooooooooooo!"

Glad to see a return to the program by David Hayt-- um, I mean, Solid Snake.

And now people can finally stop saying that Kevin Spacey should have a Spacey.

Re: The Official 2007 SPACEYS Thread

An enteretaining program as always, I'm happy with all of the winners this year.(Almost)

I think David has been taking lessons from RDA and maybe feels he needs to fill RDSA's shoes.

In the out-takes at the end, that spaced out chick in the bathing suit, was that a sensored nip slip??? and why wasn't she just edited out entirely?

Should Jewel have been in the presentation? We haven't seen her on the show yet. I like Jewel, but I don't think we voted for anything she did.

I'm not sure I like that Katie (Starbuck) got an award out of the blue 'Just because!". Doesn't that make the awards a bit meaningless?

Also, I just watched the best of the Spacys and the best part of that was Kim in the red dress. I'd like to start a petition to have her wear that again in 2008. Anyone else? Wink

The outtakes were great. Jon was great. But damn, I miss RDA's annual Spacey antics. Stick out tongue

David Nykl(Radek): "So do you think the actors on Atlantis are better looking than Firefly?"

Jewel Staite(Dr. Keller): "That's kinda awkward..." (Jonathon Llyr interrupts) Big Smile

that was funny, Firefly will always live on.

Just happened to catch the show.

What happened to BSG?  Not the best show?

But then I don't really watch the others that were nominated. :-P

My 2 fave bits were John's corney opening but even beter then that how Bruce B teased us and showed some stuff from B5 Lost Tales was not expecting that.  Incidently did his show get canned?

Re: The Official 2007 SPACEYS Thread

entertaining as always. but i must give a big SALUTE to the Spacecast news crew for their investigative work in finding Cheeta for that special award. my lord, i never in the world imagined that the original Cheeta from the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies was still alive! 75 years old! that is one bloody old chimp and still appears to be fairly lucid too! my lord, this certainly knocks out any standard reference info on the longevity of chimpanzees! and thanks for including the website on Cheeta. that was a cool segment, folks!
Thanks, but I don't need any help getting into trouble since I seem to manage quite well on my own.

    quasimtl:

I think that the Spaceys are missing one particular category: Best Geek character in a TV series or Movie. Basically the character that would most likely be a Space viewer. The would be a category that would be most unique to the Spaceys, I think. What do you think?

Hiro Nakamura would totally win that...

I am not happy at all that Katie (Starbuck) was given an award just like that. What was the point of voting?

I wasn't bothered by her getting an award (certainly not to the extent I was bothered by all the love for the mediocre Casino Royale) but the reasoning they gave was pretty odd. "Well, Starbuck's had a rough year so let's give her an award anyway." So basically she got a pity fave character award. She did get second place in the voting but you don't usually see 'pity' and 'fave character' paired together like that.

They give her an award just because but deny Kevin Spacey one for years, even though they named the awards after him.
