Six Original Films beginning November 4

    Masters of Science Fiction

Sundays at 7pm ET / 4pm PT, beginning November 4

This limited series of six original films are as current as today's headlines, but with all the wonder and imagination of the best sci-fi literature, mixing powerful ideas, cinematic production values and peak performances. With a line-up of talent in front of and behind the cameras that is laden with top awards, this is indeed a collection of "masters."  Terry O'Quinn, Anne Heche, James Denton, Judy Davis, Sam Waterston, Malcolm McDowell, Brian Dennehy, John Hurt and others star in stories that are topical and also fantastic.  Tying all of these individual stories together is Professor Stephen Hawking, the Cambridge University professor and author of the bestselling book A Brief History of Time, best known for his work in cosmology and black holes. Hawking's opening and closing narration to the Masters of Science Fiction films brings scientific authority, along with a sense of wonder, to the collection of movies.

They're not films, by any legit definition. They're episodes of a TV anthology series.

Calling 'Masters of Science Fiction' episodes 'films' is as dumb as calling 'Primeval' a 'miniseries.' ;)

Oh good to know.  I missed the first one on ABC and they are only showing 4 so I will await Space's airing as they are showing all 6

Or you can catch three more episodes on ABC first, starting tonight. There's no continuity between them, so it doesn't really matter ....

It was from the press release, there's probably a reason why it's called "films".

    Well, no, there isn't.

Found out the reason. It's what the production/distribution company wrote in their press release.

U can take it up with them..

So? I work in media and receive tonnes of press releases every day ... I don't just report them verbatim when it's clear they're not true (or even internally consistent).

U can take it up with them.

Uh, no, I can't, as you didn't post their contact info. In fact, your first post in this thread doesn't cite its sources at all, other than Space itself.

It wouldn't really be that hard for you to just apologize and change the subject header of this thread, after all.

(And while you're at it, 'original' should be changed to 'adapted,' given how 'Masters of Science Fiction' episodes are based on pre-existing stories.)

Re: Six Original Films beginning November 4

I was actually the person who put up the official show page for Masters of Scifi on spacecast.com using press releases and then created this subforum. It is standard that we use official copy unless told otherwise - or unless we find it to be incorrect when we watch the show ourselves.

Please take into consideration that this show won't premiere on SPACE until November and that not everyone involved in promoting it has seen it yet.

I suggest visiting the "Contact Us" page on spacecast.com and emailing us through the proper channels with how the description is wrong in detail to get the gears rolling for a better description. Thanks.
