I was thrilled beyond words to have seen The Dresden Files on SPACE last night! Also there was an excellent promo ad in one of the tv guides this week. Unfortunately, all of this attention should have been much more focused last year while it was still being produced. It's a shame that it's not being continued (unless we do something about it...)
The Dresden Files was an amazingly fresh new series that was good enough to sink your teeth into, week after week. You can't get any better than having a grown up version of Harry Potter with a wizard named Harry Dresden, deliciously played by Paul Blackthorne with a lost puppy dog expression. Along with his sidekick Bob as Harry's snooty mentor that resides in his own skull, hilariously portrayed by Terrance Mann.
How often do you find a lone wizard that actually advertises his business in the yellow pages, who always seemed to find himself surrounded by trouble? Or in Dresden's case, trouble always seemed to find him.
Whether it be battling against sultry vampires, seductive werewolves, creepy skinwalkers, spooky shapeshifters, or trying to save his cop friend, Murphy, he does his best in protecting the city of Chicago from weird and dangerous threats day after day. What a guy. Heck, I just want to give him a big hug.
