Your take on the 'new' trek line up

Well I guess someone had too ask this one. So I'm asking it. Star trek TOS then Enterprise then TNG at 6 Voyager at 8 Then reruns of Voyager and enterprise at midnight. So like the line or hate it?
    I don't think so *ZAAAPPP*

Seeing as how they don't air the only true successor to TOS, I'm not to thrilled about it.
I may see the world in black and white but I prefer my movies to be in amazing Technicolor.

I love TOS at 3 (4 would be even better).  I hated that it was on at 2 pm.  That was too early!

Okay and which successor would that be. I dunno honestly how I feel about it there are good and bad things. One definate GOOD thing is no more relic hunter at noon. PARTY TIME. One bad thing is the space problem Trek use to be in one large lump now it's more spread out over the afternoon and evening

As per usual, the absence of Deep Space 9 is very disheartening.

Lose Enterprise, less Voyager, and bring back DS9.

Re: Your take on the 'new' trek line up

Lose Enterprise??? Listen, I remember watching the FIRST TOS episode ever aired in 1966 and I've been a fan of every series all my life since. I have no clue why people have been so down on Enterprise, which, after a slow start, quickly become one of my favourite Trek series, after TNG. Personally, if you are looking at lame-o Trek, Voyager fits the bill nicely, thanks. And DS-9 before Worf and the Defiant? PU-leeze! If they used the same intelligence gauge they did with Enterprise, that show would have been canned after year one. Years 3 and 4 of Enterprise were tremendous, but by then, most of you had jumped ship and missed some pretty good TV.

But agree to disagree or not, can someone tell me WHY the new digital TOS, replete with a new opening score (including the words to the song) and completely reshot F/X, has been available in the US for over a year and is STILL not viewable here in Canada?   Maybe it is, but I can't find it anywhere, certainly not in Eastern Canada.

    Thanks.

Quoted for truth. I agree 100%. Enterprise seasons 1 and 2 were pretty uneven but 3 and 4 kicked as much ass as TNG did at it's zenith. Speaking of TNG I seriously can't recall a single episode of Enterprise that came off as preachy and condescending as most of the episodes were in TNG seasons 1 and 2. I put it down that those who hated Enterprise so much weren't even bothering to watch the damn show in the first place, and were just behaving in the sort of internet-wanker lemming-like behaviour that typifies way too many sci-fi fans. "Someone on a chat-board said it sucked so I better go along with it" seemed to be the overall mentality IMO. They obviously weren't watching the same show that I was.

I like it. Big Smile Previous lineup had TNG broadcast at 10 p.m.in Atlantic region, after this old fella's bedtime. It repeats at 11 p.m. so that gives a taping opportunity. Voyager, the only other ST show I watch - at least once in a while - is in prime time. Good move!

According to what's been said in other threads, Space is waiting until the entire episodes are available, and not the "edited for syndication" versions.

    Lose Enterprise???

As always, there is much debate over which Trek is better than which other.

Personally, I would rank the series as follows:

    1. TOS

    2. DS9

    3. TNG

    4. Enterprise (Season 4)

    5. Enterprise (Season 1)

    6. Voyager

    7. Enterprise (Season 2… I never watched season 3. The final episode of season 2 killed it for me. The only reason I watched season 4 was because Manny Coto came on board.)

However, I know there would be plenty of others that would partially or completely disagree with me. That's cool. I have 5 seasons of DS9 on DVD, now, so I'm almost able to watch the whole thing…

    Re: Treks…

    I'd rank 'em:

    1. TOS (still hasn't lost its charm!)

    2. Enterprise (especially Season 4... uh, except the finale. The "Mirror Universe" episodes were the best ever!)

    3. TNG

    4. Voyager

    5. DS9 (I'm sorry, but before Worf joined the cast, this show blew chunks, imo. A zombie could have acted better & been more life-like than Avery Brooks. And some people slam Kate Mulgrew's Janeway for being a bad commanding officer?!? Puh-leeze...)

    Re: Treks…

    My rankings:

    1. DS9

    2. Enterprise season 4 (the last episode didn't exist, that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

    3. TNG seasons 3-7 ... tied with TOS (different reasons)

    4. Voyager

    5. Enterprise seasons 1-3

    6. TNG seasons 1-2

It's hard to compare TOS to any of the others - it really was TV of a different era. Doesn't feel fair to hold it up against later incarnations, knowing how much more sophisticated audiences became in the meantime. It was a fun series ... but on a different scale.

Gotta say though, the TOS movies as a whole beat the TNG movies hands down. (Except First Contact.)

    Re: Treks…

    1. TOS

    2. DS9

    3. Enterprise (the last season moved it up)

    4. Voyager

    5. TAS

    6. TNG

I may see the world in black and white but I prefer my movies to be in amazing Technicolor.
