    10,000 BC not PC!!

Since this movie is using a dating system that is antiquated and places one religion above all else, I am not going to see it and encourage every one else to do the same.  I don't understand why they would not use the much more politcally correct BCE (before the common era) since this is a much more welcoming and all encompasing system.  This way people of all faiths and even atheists can go to a movie that is just fun and not preachy.

Using BC may also mean that the title date may not be accurate.  It may actually be 9,960 BC or any date between this date and 1 BC since no one really knows when Jesus was born and when He ascended.  I find it sad that the movie producers would not take into account the time discrepancy that may have taken place.  A lot of change could happen in 30 years.

Speaking of inaccuracies, the whole movie is indeed fantasy because everyone knows that the world is only 6000 years old.

Actually it is you who is not PC since everyone knows that 10,000 BC refers to 10,000 Butt Cramps which was a result of the food available during the time the movie takes place.

As for the world being 6000 years old, yes that's true, but the writer is from 4000 years in the future, so it all works out right. (Apparently he couldn't find a market in his own time for a movie about Butt Cramps).

He can't be from 4000 years in the future because the world is going to end on December 21, 2012 CE.

If the world ends, it generally means that everyone on it will end with it, unless you are some astronauts on a space shuttle who have their brain waves sent back through time by an alien, to their bodies in a previous time period.

And that's all perfectly fine unless the alien sends you back to 10,000 BC. I mean what good s 10,000 BC to an Astronaut?

If an Astronaut did end up in 10,000 BC and he knew it, would he actually CALL it 10,000 BC? I mean, that would be one hell of a prediction. Of course he would be totally politically incorrect to do so, but no one would care for about 12,000 years.

Of course that would be a whole different subject.

BTW, I think you missed the punch line in the previous post.

They can't go back that far because God hadn't created the universe then.   I ignored the martian reference because their are no martians left, except for one.

    Re: 10,000 BC not PC!!

Which Martian are you referring to...? Marvin or the Manhunter?

"10,000 BC" isn't PC, WHO, because it's just a remake... like King Kong. When the original movie was made, men were men and women did what they were told and it was a simpler world. They also thought dinosaurs walked the Earth alongside man in our pre-history, which, as we all know now, couldn't possibly happen, but it was accepted at the time because no one knew any better.

It's like most modern religions are based on texts that are thousands of years old... no one is around today who was back then, so no one can dispute what did or didn't happen. We're just supposed to accept it all on "faith" and not question it. So be a good little boy and don't question the movie... just go see it and enjoy it like the good little consumer you're supposed to be. We may or may not be around after 2012, so why take the chance?

Of course people and dinosaurs co-existed 6000 years ago.  The Flintstones proves it.

10,000 or 6000, it still proves that up to this point everyone was wrong, and in fact it's dentistry that's the oldest profession in the world. There's no other explanation for everyone back then having perfectly white, capped teeth.

If you like the Princess Bride then go rent Virgin Territory with Hayden Christensen. Its just as funny, but has more action scenes and more hot women.
