Hello,

I am trying to locate the name of a sci-fi movie from the late 70's early 80's.  When I was a kid Star Wars was released in 1977 but shortly after that there was a flood of sci-fi movies.  There was this movie and all I can recall was the space ships.  These ships were fashioned after pirate ships with sails and rocket engines.  The other thing I remember is the moon or planet had large engines as well.    Does any one recall every seeing this movie?  If so what was the name of this movie?

You don't mention it being animated, but I think it would have to be.

 

My guess is either Captain Harlock or Queen Emeraldas which A.N.N. says was from 1978.

This was not the movie but I totally forgot about this one.  I am going to rent or buy this copy.  The movie I saw was very dark.
