    Re: What the ... happened

i watch space alot and never saw any ads on space for season 4.  on another note stargate sg-1 and atlantis are 2 different shows.  while atlantis had first run rights on the movie network sg1 did not so it was easier for them to show it.  also as i mentioned in another post they probably had hoped to show season 2 again before season 3 but perhaps something to do with the ctv purchase they were able to air it before they had hoped.  anyway i guess you can never fully please everyone.

    Re: What the ... happened

In the ads they just stated that they were showing a new season.  I don't ever remember them putting a number on it.

As for Space showing season 3 previously, I have been watching the show since they started airing it and I don't ever remember them having aired these episodes.  As far as I know, I don't suffer from anterograde amnesia.

    Re: What the ... happened

the point is weather they air season 3 or 4 either is still stupid since they just aired season 1 and left it in the middle of a 3 part episode after getting new viewers interested they should have aired season 2 then followed it with season 3 not just jumped right from 1 to 3, I'm so sick of them doing stuff like this with so many shows I think I'm done with them I have to check and see what other channels are grouped with space on this tier but I think I'm going to cancel Space since it's just to frustrating to watch ANYTHING on this channel

    Re: What the ... happened

See, the problem with your arguement is that you are worried about new viewers.  What about the already established viewers who watched it when they first got it, who outnumber the new viewers and who would start drifting away because  they haven't seen any new episode for close to a year.  They are far more important to the survivial of the series on Space than you.

    Re: What the ... happened

if you had read all the posts then you would have seen that my point was if they don't care about the new viewers (wich is obviously the case) then they shouldn't have played season 1 without season 2 they should have replayed season 2 as a "refresher" for those that had already seen both seasons 1 and 2 (and people watching on space have ZERO effect on if the show continues since space is only running re-runs anyway if the Sci-Fi channel stops airing it it's not like space will pick it up and continue producing new seasons) so again to make it clear re-running season 1 without season 2 was a extremely STUPID thing to do no matter how you look at it.

    Re: What the ... happened

Why are they going to rerun a season over and over until they can show season 3?  That would chase off even more viewers.  The way the rights are tied up for this show they are in a no win situation so they take gambles on what will do the least amount of damage to the viewership.  That's life.

    Re: What the ... happened

and that proves my point of how stupid they are since playing season 1 without 2 not only drives viewers away from this show but basicly anything aired on space

Well its most likely you guys missed the ad's which is odd considering the amount of times they played the freaking ad...lol. Look at youtube to see them (sci-fi logo in some and Space logo in some others) I have Space channel here through Shaw. Point is I have seen the ad's on the Space channel (Channel 39 here fyi), in fact prior to this thread the main (frontpage) of the Space website even mentioned the season 4 premier. Btw Who season 3 is already on DVD.

You have no proof that viewers are being driven away, and saying comments like.."they are stupid" really isn't helping anyone/thing. But go ahead man...vent....vent away.

    Re: What the ... happened

Repeating seasons don't drive people away. They just do what I do, don't watch it and start watching when the new season is out. It's not like Space doesn't Advertise it enough and if you have internet connection you know when it started back up again.

Now as for showing season one and skipping season 2 I figured that's what happened. No big deal I'll catch the season 2 episodes another time. The thing I thought was the that season 4 was the new one we were watching as I haven't caught any Stargate Atlantis due to the time it was on and not having a PVR yet. Now I have one and I'm starting to watch the show. I didn't even realize this was seaons 3, explains why the cable menu calls it a repeat from last year though. Had me baffled for sure. Also the ads were for the new season and showed the wraith had been defeated with new enemies to more terrifying that the wraith. Then the show starts and they are battling the wraith still. Odd that.

    Re: What the ... happened

I guess I'll have to hope a real network decides to play SGA so I can see the conclusion of the 3 parter and season 2..and I now know better then to start watching anything on Space, I guess I at least learned that

    Re: What the ... happened

You mean that you haven't watched season 2 yet?  It's not because it hasn't been show for over the last year on Space and the other 5 or 6 CTV stations.   The reason you saw season one episodes at the beginning of January is because from mid November to mid January all ANY station broadcasts is reruns.

You are a victim of digital cable and licensing.

Space has always had to broadcast  at least 1 year late in most sci-fi shows because of exclusive licensing being given to specific companies.  Season one of SGA was availabel first only through TMNOD and the same probably holds true even now.

Of course this is what your rampage is really about...  you don't actually care if you did you'd just buy the set for the same price as one or two month's package price to get space or at least check out a few web sites before you start whining.

You just want to stir people up so you can sit back and giggle at all the people who respond to you and maybe show off how much of a 'geek' they can be.

P.S.  by the end of SGA season currently running (season 3), the Asgaard will be wiped out.

your first point is right I haven't seen season 2 yet ( I missed SGA the first time around and didn't want to jump in in the middle so I never watched) when I saw space claiming they were showing the seris "from the beggining" I assumed they ment all the seasons so I started to watch.

everything else you said is way way off..my complaint is exactly what I said it was they played season 1 but didn't follow it with season 2 and from what I've read it looks more like you are the one trying to twist what has been said around so you will get a reaction (guess I should have ignored your post)

    Re: What the ... happened

It was not my intention to insult you, rather to call you on your behaviour.  (When I read your posts I had an instant flashback to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.)  You have through your messages called people "asinine", stupid and by virtue of your complaints incompetent in a field that they have been trained and experienced in.  I can understand the frustration at missing out, but you ignored the point that Space ran season 2 already at least once and with Space being owned by CTV, as a whole SGA is being run on over 4 different stations at various times of the day under the same banner (different episodes).  The unspoke point is that Space is trying to lead the presentation of Science Fiction in Canada - after the exclusive rights have elapsed ie. TMNOD showing SGA before anyothers in Canada for 1 year.  Space was the only Canadian channel to broadcast Firefly and Farscape (to my knowledge.)

Season 2 is 2 years old and it is absurd to think that they would constantly rerun old seasons of a show in hopes of gaining new viewers - especially with it also running on so many other channels and it's wide spread availability on line (Amazon offers pay per episode dl's and as a set) or at retal locations such as any Rogers, Jumbo, Blockbuster, Wal-mart, Zellers... etc.    I think I paid under $60 for Season 1 & 2 together.  Something I've always appreciated about Space is how they, when presenting reruns have in the past shown the episodes Out of Order giving a viewer the chance to focus on various plot elements - such as the rerunning of DS9 - the Ferengi episodes or X-Files Alien Mythos.  I have yet to see any other station actually care about the story to try this.

    Re: What the ... happened

Farscape actually started out on YTV.  When they found out what they got they didn't really seem to know what to do with it.  The problem was they had the rights to it and that is why we were behind the rest of the world for the rest of the seasons after season 1.  Space had to wait for YTVs rights to it to lapse.
