I always thought that the Cylons would end up being close to the humans in charge.

I got that right(!) but...I naturally thought that Geata was one of the final five... (!)

but I have given up hope that he'll be the fifth cylon.

I'm leaning towards either Baltar or Starbuck right now, but methinks that both seem too obvious.

It would certainly be very interesting if Helo turned out to be the last Cylon model...  That might mean that the Chief and Kally (sp) might in fact have the first true human/cylon hybrid...

As of right now, I agree with Agathon121 and derrmaxx... I think Dee is a very good candidate to be the final Cylon. She's close to both Adamas and is in a position of privilege in the fleet command structure, much like the other 4 who were revealed last season.

pxlprncss, about Tory Foster... we'll never know for sure, but I think had Paul Campbell decided to stay with the series, Billy would have been revealed as a Cylon. There was a lot of emphasis on the Prez regarding him as a son. So I agree Tory's revelation was the least dramatic, but finding out Billy was a machine would have ranked up there with Tigh & Tyrol...

These final five are supposed to be "fundamentally different" from the rest of the Cylons... I wonder how so... do they just want to blend into the human race and carry on (like Tigh says, "Saul Tigh is the man I want to be.") or do they still have an agenda that will be detrimental to humans?

Anyone else have any thoughts on what is so different about these models?

I don't think that the final four have done anything yet to harm the human race.  In fact, they've helped them to survive.  Methinks that after the revelations in BSG: Razor, the final four are there to help the humans, and that the Cylon "human" models will face a terrible ending. 

It's what the special relevance of the final cylon is.  What makes it more special than these four? 

So the original ship from Picon that was captured by the Cylons, and which apparantly all the models of cylon came from.....is there any hints from that?  Is there a ships register floating out there in cyberspace that may give us a hint?  Is that where all 12 models came from, or just the first six (Boomer, etc.)

One theory - perhaps the final five were created by humans and the first seven were created by cylons? And they have competing agendas but similar makeup?

And what about Tyrol and Kali's baby? Will her blood have healing properties?

 

Oh, and regarding TheCrown's sig, in case there was any confusion, I do work with space.  I don't know of anyone who lurks/posts here and pretends otherwise.

4 women ( D'Anna Biers, Number 6, Number 8 Boomer,Number 8 Athena)and 4 or more, (I do not know the number of brothers Cavil.)men cylons (No. 5, Brother Cavil, Simon, Leoben Conoy). Plus 3 men and 1 woman are revealed as the last 5 cylons. 7 men and 5 women only. Are few women and men the most.
    And the president LAURA ROSLIN had the same dream at the same time with both cylons (No. 6 and 8), the son of Sharon Valreii (Athena.), which is half human half cylon. And is written in the Sacred scriptures that a leader  sick will lead humanity to Earth. Where are also referred to the 5....?!!!

Remembering that Cylons mix TRUTH with lies to twist humans trust... - laura is sharing dreams with the other cylons due to having athena's blood in her veins = she is not a cylon she just can tune into them, scroll of pythia says a dying leader will lead to earth, cannot see them referencing a cylon in holy text - kara is fullfilling her destiny as a scout in finding the eye of jupiter, i dont think the temple of jupiter was the eye, just a marker, the eye of jupiter was the maelstrom she flew her viper into when she tried to kill herself (rather sacrificial in nature, almost holy), quite possibly the eye of jupiter is litterally the giant red spot on jupiter, a wormhole connecting the maelstrom to our jupiter, i would almost call kara a john the baptist, visions and all. vipers dont have FTL capability so there is no other way she could have been to earth unless she went thru the eye of jupiter to sol system and returned the same or similar way. - lee almost had me going in the last episode but i think he wanst on his way to the meeting with the other final 4 of 5, but was contemplating the future now that the case was over. looking over the last episode where lee meets kara again, i cannot help but look at the object that appears to be in front of him in the nebula, is it a reflection? or is it a massive roughly spherical space ship ? - felix to me is human i havnt seen anything to lead me to believe he is a cylon - if you remember the chief was TOLD by priest "your a cylon" , baltar has been told numerous times by the cylons "your not a cylon", sharon had been asked if there were other cylons in the fleet and she said yes but refused to tell adama who they were.  maybe she dosent know, maybe none of the 7 know who any of the final 5 are, remembering lucy lawless's final moments in the temple when she looked upon the final 5 she was surprised by all of them.  leads me to think the final 5 are all sleepers (4 exposed in last episode) but as a twist laura was told by the subsequently spaced cylon " adama is a cylon ", there are only 2 adama's to choose from, assuming the cylon's have kept up with their actually HONEST disclosures of who are cylons I think the most probable case for the 5th is..... Bill Adama - an adama was told to be a cylon, he would command respect from lucy lawless as the 5th when she begs forgiveness,  he has never undergone the cylon detector (never was clear if baltar ever did do his test given he was supposed to be 2nd right after ellen),  if the cylon plan to find earth requires the final 5 then in pieces we have... tigh instrumental in saving the fleet due to his skill, chief finding the temple of jupiter, sam saving kara to retrieve the arrow of athena, laura's aid must still have a key part to play, and of course adama is the glue that allows all of this to happen.

1st rule in writing cheesy TV shows -- always produce the most dramatic result, regardless of facts or preconditions.

Have to agree (sort of) with TotenBC, it's totally Adama.  People have to remember that this series is ficitional and the writers can of course do whatever they wish, but they tend to go in the direction of the most dramatic(one low-light was the Helo "you cant do that on TV!" cause it's genocide episode), and they've certianly been hinting in Adama's direction. 

That being said, if you ask me, by the simple rule I just stated, it won't be the old man.  They'll push you and push you in that direction until it's finally revealed that the 5th and final cylon is:

Gods, can you imagine the 90210-style dramatic fall-out from that one !?  The old man would work, but Lee would be too juicy to pass up, and I don't think the writers will be able to resist.  I mean just the plot line of the old man having to cope with a cylon as a son, the death of his one son prior, his failed marriage etc., may cause people's heads to explode.
 

 I think in the end, it will be revealed everyone on some level has cylon blood -- the whole "everything is happening again" plotline.  That is, they'll find earth, the cylons will be destroyed but not without revealing everyone is a cylon on some level (through half-bloods mixing in the general gene pool), and they'll return to Kobol.  Then they'll destroy all evidence that they have any cylon bloodline connections, and the cycle can be repeated for them to return as the 12 tribes/colonies once the whole radiation thing goes away on the planets (circa +4000 years).  Repeat as necessary.
 

• So far 4 of the final 5 have been prominent players in the series. Will the final 1 follow along this same premise. Maybe or maybe not. At this point IMO to reveal the remaining unknown as a main player would have less dramatic impact than lets say it was the Soothesayer who seamed to know a lot about what was happening and what was going to happen while not being in the main picture at all. She would not know she was Cylon, just like the other four, but to me her actions , words, and prophecies really reminds me of the hybrids , especially the one found in Razor. Doesn't anyone else find it odd that out of nowhere a Cylon, Dianna, would seek out and heed the words of a Human Soothesayer, one who said she knew that  Dianna would come to her and for that matter knew that Dianna was Cylon without ever having met her before. She also knew about Hera and that Dianna would be boxed. Maybe when Dianna viewed the final five and apologized .... sorry I never knew ... it was her that she saw. Besides this series has been full of 180 degree turns and this or something similar would fit in. All the other easily suspect choices would be just that ... to easy.

I have a theory and believe its classic misdirection -- like they did with Starbuck dying (and coming back) and the different "versions" of Sharon.

Here are the commonalities in the 4 "revealed" Cylons:

* Hate the Cylons!

* All were part of the resistance and were monintored/captured/imprisoned on New Caprica.

* Sharon, when she was revelead, didnt hear any  music to understand that she was a Cylon -- so why do it with the new ones?

Based on on this premise, I'd say that the 4 (Tigh, Sam, Chief and Tory) ARE human but have been made to believe they're Cylons. During  imprisonment, the cylons implanted a chip to manipulate them later into thinking they're Cylons.

 So, it could be that the final 5 are still dormant! In that scenario, I'd bet on Dee, Laura, one or both of the Adama's, Gaeta and definitely Gaius. Gaius could be the "mastermind" of ALL the Cylon programming because he IS a genius (he just forgot it or has his memory erased!).

LEE would make the perfect choice.

My only question is this tho: Wouldn't Adama notice if his second son was a Cylon?

Counterpoint: We know that Adama was away for much of Lee's childhood AND at the beginning of
the series we know that Lee hadn't seen his father in years.

Oooooooh... could it be...?

It'd be the perfect setup too 'cause we've seen Lee sacrifice so much to save his father in the past -
and then in the end, his Cylon programming kicks in and he turns on his dad.

Adama would never see it coming.

Here's a catch it seems most are asuming it is one of the present oersons in the show,

If I recall from previews its states that the remaining 5 are in the fleet.

Now we know the first orginal 7 and we now know theremaing 4(asuming there the 4 and not some trick by the producers)., which leaves 1 remaining the 5th.

Now why is it assumed that that 5th has to be one of the present actors on the show? There will a few new faces appearomh tjis season on the show like Nana Visitor and a couple of others, Now why can't it be one of those "new" actors that will be appeareing this season?

Anything possible in this season?

As for Starbuck being a cylon, I dought it, as for her sudden "re-appearance, is possible that she is part 'God'(her father or mother was a one of colonistysd :Gods"), hence she can't die she's immorta;?

In pure story terms the greatest cylon reveal would be one of the characters who has been there from the beginning.

It would be a total cheat if it turned out to be a character we'd never met.

I think Starbuck is something other than a cylon- a person with destiny- but she has come back from the dead- a cylon power.

Stabuck will lead the human race to it's end, so it's more powerful if she is not a cylon.

While Baltar could be a cylon it might be better if his arc is that of the savior.

I think Adama and Roslin's characters are weakened if they are cylons...

 Lee could be the savior, and possibly a cylon. His 'reveal' as a cylon would be a major shock to many... including me...

so he's a good guess.

Until the four were revealed my money was on Gaeta... has been from the start. Now i'm not so sure. He seems too obvious.

 

I have to say, I agree about Baltar and Starbuck not being Cylons, and Cmdr Adama and Roslin being too central and integral to have their identities altered like that.

Gaeta is looking a little too fishy to be a Cylon. They will probably play with that idea, however, and do a little bait-and-switch with him.

When Leobon said Adama is a Cylon, we immediately thought he meant William. But it would make more sense if it was Lee, both as a story and in his character arc.

I do, however, think that the second batch of cylons is different than the first 7, but I am dead curious to find out how they are different and who would make D'anna fall to her knees like that.
