Oh dear God... After each BSG episode on Space, my TV will be on another station...
Space is planning a show to air after each Battlestar Galactica episode, in which a panel discusses what happened in that episode. Okay, sound all right so far. So, who's on the panel. TV critics? Um, no. Maybe some general SF experts? No. ... All right, then, how about some fans?! ... No? Then who might be involved in this learned round table? Elvia Kurt and a number of other comedians. ... The hell?! Sweet mother of Christ! Comedians?! What are they thinking?! They're just going to sit around at poke fun at the episode, not discuss it! (And Eliva Kurt isn't even funny in the first place. She's like a female Mike Bullard. They both obviously think they're a riot, but you just cringe at every "joke" they make.) Thanks CTV, for this apparent move to merge Space and the Comedy Channel. Doug

I don't have any tiny shadow of doubt whatsoever that CTV would pull more bonehead moves after the dismissal of Mr. Llyr.
Edit -- Thanks for the pm, question withdrawn.

What will Kim, Danielle and Ben be doing?
"These 'taxes', they are like sacrifices to tribal gods?"
"Well, roughly speaking, but paying taxes is more painful."

If this is true, it is definitely the lamest thing I've ever heard. Why would anyone in his/her right mind think that fans of Galactica would find this even remotely entertaining? Having comedians mock analyze the show is just one more step towards completely alienating (pun intended) whatever people still watch this channel. Is Kurt hurting for work...? Message to SPACE: PLEASE... bring Llyr back!

I was browsing randomly and saw it on a board, posted by someone who supposedly knows someone at the Comedy Channel. But do you think I can find it again? Nnnnoooo. Jeez, should have bookmarked it. The sheer horror of the idea sent me running in terror. Doug

I was just speaking to a friend who "overheard" that this was in the works. They shall remain nameless, but have worked on shows like Starhunter, The Lexx, Trailer Park Boys, etc. They are generally "in the know" about these things but admit to it being hearsay and haven't spoken / been spoken to directly about it. They also thought it sounded totally absurd and without any possible redeeming qualities.

Being a good science fiction afficianado, I am not up on my comedians. Seeing as how the show sounds like it will be cheaply produced, I can just guess at what they will get for talent.

I just looked at the Space Shedule and it says there is a movie on right after BSG at 11. I am going to assume this is a rumor.

Well the daily listings only go to the 15th of April (2 episodes in) and can be changed at the drop of a hat. The Weekly Grid has also disappeared from the schedule page, so there is nothing else to check against.

Maybe someone is getting a early jump on April Fools Day. I would think if something like this was to occur either Mask/Mark or one of the moderators would of posted something.

I really, really hope so. But this actually sounds like something the new owners would pull. We can but hope. Doug

Re: Oh dear God... After each BSG episode on Space, my TV will be on another station...
I often wonder how rumours like this get started. In this case there is a kernal of truth... we plan to have a special BSG forum during HypaSpace as part of our April 4th launch. I'll be the moderator, and I can assure you that this was an idea generated by the SPACE team- in fact this was originally pitched a couple of years ago from a production team member- and I am very excited to do this again. I used to love producing forums before I came to SPACE, and it was great to flex muscles that I normally only get to use at conventions. As for a one hour after show- well, I'm blessed with a face for radio, so nobody wants to see me do that! As a 'one off' this was a blast, but that's what it is. A one off. In a HypaSpace. m.

The internet is a great place for rumours finding a life of their own. At least it wasn't a megaton announcement.
