    ?? about stargate

I have only watched a couple of shows, the ones I have watched I have liked.  I know very losely what it is about.  I Hubbie just got me a couple of the seasons 2 & 3 Big Smilehe had to order the 1st    apperently it is going to take about 2 months to come in. [:'(]

My ?? is I am a bit impatient and I would like to start watching the show now as I do not know much about the show misssing the first season will I be lost??  does allot happened to the charters during the first season??  Is it when the find the star gate does it explain about how it works and why they decide to use it??  Or is it something that they have always had??

Could someone tell me what happens in the first season so I can start to watch the DVD's?? or is this show so great that I should wait to get the 1st season and watch it all myself.

I do plan to watch the 1st season I am just impatient

    thanks to all

The series starts about 1 year after the movie, its not really important in what order you see it,once season 1 arrives you can watch it anyway, its not like you watched Babylon 5 which must be seen from the first episode.

Enjoy watching SG1 new Gater Cool

Stargate is pretty episodic; you won't be lost if you jump into the middle.

If you come across a plot point that confuses you, try Gateworld. It's pretty comprehensive.

As the others have stated, there is not a whole lot of continuity to worry about in the first few seasons.

Indeed, you should be okay missing season 1 and going to season 2.  The only thing that might be confusing is how they got to where they are because season 1 ends on a cliffhanger but there is a "Previously on" thing so that might not be a problem.  As was previously said, you can always go back and watch season 1 once it is delivered, at which point you will have some questions from seasons 2 & 3 that will probably be answered by the episodes of season 1.
