    And it begins...

    Wooo!

4x01 'Partners in Crime" is downloading as we speak.

Unfortunately, I will have it before I have time to watch it. Somehow I will survive the delay. Don't know how yet.

BTW, no, CBC didn't reply yet.

edited to add... DL just finished, I haven't watched it yet, but took a quick look at the credits and CBC is NOT mentioned there now. So, does that mean the CBC has abandoned it entirely???

I was just poking around elsewhere, I just saw mentioned on the viewers.ca message board that CBC is airing the Olympics this summer.....which made me smack my forehead for having forgotten.  If there is only a month and a bit in between the end of the play-offs and the start of the Olympics, chances just drastically went up that Doctor Who is off the schedule all together for this summer.

And here is the list of their summer programming for which Doctor Who is conspicuously absent:

After seeing this I think I'll be catching up on the last few TW eps this week and then jumping on the torrent bandwagon.

And to add insult to injury. The final tag on the episode, there is no CBC credit on the episode.

    Re: And it begins...

After the kick in the gut that was the Torchwood final the Doctor Who premier was a great pallet cleanser,
& that little tag towards the end of the show....... Oh this is gonna be a real good series.
To hell with CBC, they want to cheat us out of series 4 over the summer then everyone should DL the ep's
then maby a station with some common sense will pick it up & do right by the fans.

Yes, glad you noticed that, although it was mentioned in my last post. I wonder if that means that it's status has changed with CBC, maybe Mark should check on this again.

Yes, I have a good feeling about this season. Even though I'd prefer Martha over Donna, I think I won't have a choice but to get used to her.

As for another station picking it up, I think Mark has already mentioned that it's not available since CBC has already grabbed it (even though it appears they aren't using it)

Also I think the CBC should know by now that in this day and age, if they aren't going to air a popular show, that the fans know how to find it elsewhere.

By the way, I thought the first episode was good as an introductory episode. Not great, but even an average DW episode is better than most other stuff on TV.

As a friend of mine said regarding "Partners in Crime": Donna brings the awesome. Big Smile

    Dear All-

This will probably be my last post here, as I wish to avoid spoilers.

I have not talked to my CBC contact, but I shall, very soon. I highly doubt Dr. Who is available. Maybe Torchwood?

I have not seen the credits, and I'm not likely to see any Dr. Who episodes for a while.

I have high hopes for Season 4 of Dr. Who, but I prefer to watch them in a big glup- the whole season in a few nights- on DVD.

(Or a Marathon! A Marathon would be cool!)

What do you mean 'almost'?   I did squeal!  (Especially since I wasn't expecting it in the first episode.  Big Smile )

And Donna does bring the awesome.   You're not matin' with me Sunshine.

    Squeeeee!

Yeah, the fourth series is off to a roaring good start. The "pantomine" conversation had me laughing extremely hard and Donna is going to be a great companion. Download the commentary for the ep from the BBC if you have a chance because it is quite entertaining.

Oh, God, yes, the mimed conversation. I laughed so hard. Although about half-way through, I realized how that was going to play out in regards to Miss Foster. Big Smile

I can only find the 30 min podcast. Is that the one, or is there a full length one?

I watched the Confidential. It's good too.

    Ah poor David

I just read that David and Bethan have broken up. She dumped him because she was always alone during his long working hours,

Seems to me that this is pretty much the same reason that he dumped Sophia when she took a job in the states.

I think his problem is that he's looking for a girlfriend. He should know by now that a companion is would be a better idea.

    or maybe a robot dog.
