    Hmm [^o)] Re: The BBC likes David... a whole lot!!!

    Psi-Phi-Sam:

    THE BBC is rumoured to be ready to pay David Tennant a massive £1.3 million to carry on as Doctor Who.

    The Bathgate-born actor is expected to be offered a new deal worth up to £100,000 per episode.

    Anybody know how much that is in real money?

    Roughly… double it to get its worth in Canadian dollars.

    We now return you to your regularly scheduled topic...

    And yet the Doctor never uses money.

    £1.00 = 2.00538 CAD

    So approximately $2,607,349.63 CAD.    Not bad for a years work.

    Being a European, you would think that he would be getting paid in Euros.
    I may see the world in black and white but I prefer my movies to be in amazing Technicolor.

    The UK has not jumped on the Euros bandwagon

    4x12 Finale pt 1

    Episode title deliberately omitted to avoid spoilers.

    Holy C r a p !!!   Surprise

    RTD really wants to go out with a bang doesn't he!

    Not one single dull moment in that episode I'll tell ya. Could be the best episode ever, it even beats Blink. How am I going to survive till next week ???

    ...and then the last 5 minutes...   those b u g g e r s !!  Devil Have they been deliberately sending false messages to fool the fans? If the cliffhanger follows through as expected, they sure had me going as noted by my previous post.(Don't go look, it's a spoiler)

    And yet, I've heard that the Christmas episode is already being filmed. If that's true, the cliffhanger is a lie. If the cliffhanger is true, then that report is a lie.

    Stand back, my heads gonna explode now. Indifferent

    I was thinking this episode would have made a good full length movie, and on that subject, next weeks episode is extended by15-20 minutes. I wonder how much Sci-Fi channel will chop.

    Off to watch the confidential and then maybe the episode again.

    Edited to add... Dalek Sec was hilarious as an insane Dalek. And to think all of this happened because of his emergency escape from New York.

    Edited again... Oops, I guess that was Caan, not Sec.

    Re: 4x12 Finale pt 1

    Donna "I'm just a temp!" Noble

    Donna = "lady" in Italian

    Noble = A Lord is a Noble

    Temp --> Tempus --> Time

    And Rose said that Donna's been putting off strange alternate reality readings since the day she was born.

    Firecracke:

    Donna "I'm just a temp!" Noble

    Wow, I don't want to ever meet the person who figured that one out.

    With all of the other previous episode connections being wedged in there, might as well add 'Human Nature' to the list.

    This line makes me laugh: "I came here when I was just a kid.  90 years old"

    Well that finale was just fricken brilliant. I can't rave about it enough. I had the Donna becoming a Time Lord pegged,, but not the second Dr., nor Donna having to have it all taken away.

    It simply was fantastic. Well done all that were involved.

    I agree, great episode and finale. It must have been a huge job for RTD to pull all of those threads together and have them make sense.

    These 13 episodes sure went fast, it's like they just started a couple of weeks ago and now they're gone already. Hope the DVDs are out soon. I'm going to miss DW next year.

    PS, you shouldn't be posting exposed spoilers, this is the CBC thread and it hasn't aired here yet.

    Not going to worry about it. Ep number is in the subject line, Not going to babysit others anymore than that. They can read, otherwise they wouldn't be looking through a forum.

    Yup, there it is. That's the attitude that keeps people from posting in the groups. Congrats.

    Tidbits

    Just a couple things of intrest...

    Doctor Who scoops the 2nd annual Constellation Awards

     CBC's co-production Doctor Who swept the television categories, picking up three trophies including Best Science Fiction Television Series of 2007.

    The show's lead actor David Tennant won Best Male Performance in a Science Fiction Television Episode for the second year in a row, beating out nominees from Heroes, Supernatural, and Chuck. Meanwhile, British actress Carey Mulligan was a surprise winner in the Best Actress category for her guest appearance in Doctor Who, beating out popular lead actresses from Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Stargate SG-1, and other series.

     (Carey Mulligan played Sally Sparrow in Blink)

    New evidence that Doctor Who composer invented dance music

    Long hailed as an electronic music pioneer, it now transpires that Delia Derbyshire, composer of the original Doctor Who theme, created at least one contemporary-sounding dance track as long ago as the 1960s.

    The track is one of a collection of recordings that was discovered in Derbyshire's attic when she died in 2001. However, only now is it being made public.

    Speaking to the BBC, Paul Hartnoll, erstwhile of Orbital, called the rediscovered dance track "quite amazing" and "timeless". "This could be coming out next week on Warp Records," he said.

    MusicRadar has listened to the track and has to concur – it's remarkable to think that it was created some 40 years ago.

    Woo-Who: David Tennant's 'Doctor Who' salary bump

     "Doctor Who" will likely remain to be played by actor David Tennant until 2010. Rumors were a-foot that the actor was contemplating leaving the long running sci-fi series.  Boatloads of BBC cash are said to be sealing the deal, as the reported potential payday for Tennant is in the $3 million dollar range for him to remain as the time-traveling Doctor.

    That's it for now.

    Re: Tidbits

    Nice!

    Maybe this will prompt the CBC to actually air the series...
