    Trek Reference in Latest Episode

Just wondering if anyone caught it.  Just a hint the locker number.

Um, yeah, "locker 1701-D" was pretty obvious.  I'm sure everyone got it.

I think it is a portent of what they will find when they reach Earth.

Even though the people who govern it never use it.  They like to talk a lot.

I guess it was cheaper then finding and using a "Stargate".  On a serious note I wonder if that was RM's doing.

Re: Trek Reference in Latest Episode

Sorry.  As dorky as I can be at times, the locker number completely got by me.  I guess that reaffirms my belief I am not 100% lost to the world of dork.  Although, I am on a science-fiction message board writing about how I am not a dork.  Ergo, I must be one.

Nice catch with the locker number though.  I wonder how many other references have been made over time that completely got by.  Does anyone have any others?

And just to point out that I am paying attention to the details...

In the "Razor" episode where Starbuck is in the mess drinking up and listening to the little radio about President Roslin, the little radio is made by GRUNDIG and its one of those little crank-battery radios that you can recharge by turning a generator crank on its side.  (I own one).

    Ciao

Re: Trek Reference in Latest Episode

RM use to either write for or produce Star Trek TNG (at least I think it was TNG, might have been DS9 or Voyager) so the references to the Enterprise are there from time to time.

I remember reading about them in another blog (might have been on the SiFi site, not sure, can't remember).  I do remember there being talk about RM working in the Star Trek world.  At some point (during last season?) when there was a massive loss of life the question was asked how many died and the answer was 1701.  You'll have to do a little searching, but they are out there.

Actually cavtiger, 1701 - D, is the Enterprise's ship designation number. From the "Next Generation" series.
Hmmm, what's that ? Lunch, maybe..?
    F**K it, I'll eat it anyways !!!

I guess that solves the puzzle as to what series he worked on...

Re: Trek Reference in Latest Episode

I'm pretty positive he worked on Voyager. I thought he wanted to take that show in a darker direction like BSG, and eventually left the show. He may have also worked on TNG? or I may just have it backwards.
