Space doesn't usually start airing things in the summer. My guess would be that we'll see Eureka s3 sometime in the fall.

Naomi is correct. It looks very unlikely that we'll bring Eureka back in the summer.

A fall launch for S.3 is possible, but I have no official word.

    Re: Season 3 on Space

I was just in Chilliwack the other day and saw them shooting a scene on the main street of Eureka -- saw the Sheriff SUV and the statue of Archimedes...  I know someone who works security on the show, and they've been shooting for a few weeks (starting in late May) so I would expect that the show will be airing in the US soon, but as has been said already, they usually don't seem to start new shows in summer on Space.  Shame.

It's a real shame Space channel air the  made in Canada marvelous TV series after US aired. It's an insult to Canadians and fellas in the industry.

I think Space channel should cut those US made old series in prime time replace it with most current made in Canada fantastic series such as Stargate Atlantis, Eureka, B Galactica etc  for Canadian family a chance to enjoy while support local artists, actors, writers etc.

    Re: Season 3 on Space

First of all I do not think Space has the budget the US Sci Fi channel has and also Space cares about its viewers so it opts to air new episodes for the most part air in the fall when more people would have a chance to see.  Also it should be known that Space sometimes does things some shows before the US does.  Take this past year/season they aired some episodes of Smallville before the usa channels/stations.

    Fixed that for you.

    Stick out tongue

People who want to see it, will see it, as evidenced by rampant downloading.  An avid fan of a show will watch it in spring, summer, winter or fall.  Casual viewers tend to not watch TV as much in the summer and thus Space can't pitch as high of a number of "eyeballs" for the sponsor's advertising buck.

    Re: Season 3 on Space

Although I'd like to call things like Eureka "Canadian shows" because they are filmed here, I believe that the US SciFi channel are the ones paying for the show, aren't they?  The point being that to be a Canadian show is different from being a show filmed in Canada.  Now Forever Knight was a Canadian show since it was a Canadian production company which made it [an American wrote the original pilot "Nick Knight" but it flopped and a Canadian then bought the rights and re-did it as a very successful show] and ReGenesis is a Canadian show currently being produced, but shows which are produced by American companies shooting in Canada aren't Canadian shows no matter how much we wish they were.

    Re: Season 3 on Space

The determination of what is a 'Canadian' show is a complex one, and has to do with a number of factors including the nationality of the key creators and actors, as well as who is financing it, etc.

The other complication is that SPACE often has a 'second window' like we do on Stargate: Atlantis, where another prodcaster has the first airing.

Eureka is a show that we love, and while it has a loyal fanbase, we knew that many of them do not watch tv in the summer. To air it in the summer would mean that lots of fans would miss it, so we delayed the airing, and we'll see how many viewers we lost due to downloading.

For what it's worth - I've watched the first 5 episodes of season 3 already and will still be watching them on Space.  Good shows can be watched more than once Smile

    Re: Season 3 on Space

i am having trouble accessing the monthly listings but just hope that Space does not limit the new episodes to the 10 pm eastern airing and have another airing before the show is completed for the season.

I don't know about that but I know I'm watching the first episode of the new season right now on Space.
