    LCD Monitors

I'm looking to upgrade to a new LCD monitor.

Just curious, what does everyone out there use?

I just bought a new monitor: Samsung 2232BW. Cost about $300. It's a big improvement over my old one, but I can't really evaluate it yet as I've had it for less than two weeks.

I have a Viewsonic VX2235 that I was quite impressed with when it replaced my old CRT just over a year ago, but then I went dual monitor and added a BenQ FP241w.

The BenQ blows the Viewsonic out of the water, I've had the benQ for 6 months now and it still amazes me with how good the picture is.

Yes, the BenQ costs a lot more than the Viewsonic, there is a reason for that.

I've had a Samsung Syncmaster 226 BW for about 8 months now.  I'm very happy with it, fast response time, high contrast ratio and no problem with gaming.

    Re: LCD Monitors

I went with an LG L227WTG monitor.

    It's a 22" TN panel monitor.

It has 0 input lag and is like a CRT in that regard. It's great for gaming, Internet browsing, etc., but not that spectacular for video, but then again, about what you expect from a TN panel though.

I'm really using this as a stop gap, until I eventually get a new desk that will fit a bigger monitor and when I have the money for a more expensive IPS panel.
