    Oh this is so cool.

There is, perhaps, a grassroots lesson for the chilly post-9/11 world and its Mals: Fox could yank an off-centre series, but it couldn't make it lie down and die. The loyal fans, the self-styled Browncoats, wouldn't allow it. They launched websites. They bought a million copies of the DVD. Fillion went to a sci-fi convention in London, and Firefly DVDs sold out, even though the show had never aired there.
    And so true.

Fillion, ... "Any time art and business meet, the art is going to lose out, that's been my experience."
    And....

"My wish is that Serenity does so well, it makes Hollywood think we should be investing in people like Joss, who know how to tell a story. We don't need to spend $180 million on a movie. It's clever witty writing that keeps you invested."
Oh please, oh please, oh please. *crosses fingers*

I've recently completed an update of my website, Industrial Looniee & Madness that includes completely remastered versions of all of my Firefly fanvids. That annoying Fox logo in the lower righthand corner is history now and they look much better.

    ;)

Re: Still Flying - The Firefly Thread

I e mailed another dimension on Monday to see whether they had received new copies of the first issue of the serenity mini series and got this reply:
I just received word from Dark Horse that Serenity #1 is completely sold out so we're unable to get any more copies in. Hopefully they will decide to do a second printing but there hasn't been any announcement one way or another yet.

    *sigh*
Of course, this is marvelous news. It shows that their are huge numbers of browncoats or would-be browncoats out there, who will spend a tone of money going to the movie in the fall.
But it sucks for me. I was looking forward to seeing what made Inara stay on Serenity instead of abandoning Mal, and who the Blue gloved agents were and what organization they worked for. But if I miss one issue of the series, what's the point of getting the other two?
    :(

Can you give me the name of an online comic shop that's based in Canada?

Zero joy. Pages Book Emporium turned out to be a used bookstore. Thank you for going to all the trouble of finding the adress though. it was very thoughtful. :)

A question for the PTB: Are there any plans for Space to have a Firefly marathon in the near future?

I think they should have one on Labour Day! I mean, they could probably fit in the whole series! :)

(In fact, that's exactly what they're doing...)

Well, that's all good then. Sadly, I don't watch much TV and probably missed any ads airing for the Labour Day Marathon.

Re: Still Flying - The Firefly Thread

I don't know if there have actually been any ads - I heard from some people at the last Toronto Shindig, who heard at Toronto Trek...
