spaceguy: WooHoo! It finally arrived, my Freakin Awesome 30" Dell Monitor
(Running with a ATI X1900XT graphics card)
2560 x 1600 pixels or 4,096,000 pixels. 25" x 15.75"
One sour note is Dell reduced the price by $300 the same day my monitor arrived.
So that sucked. But now you can get a 30" monitor for $1399 CDN. How cool is that.
Here is a pic with my MacPro running MacOSX Tiger and Windows XP with Parallels. Yes, that is a 3d Serenity model I'm playing with in 3dsMax. (See a few posts up of pic of taskmanager showing 4 processors being used in Boot Camp).

While it would be sweet to have a 30" monitor, I would never spend that kind of money for it. That cost more than my entire computer did!(Of course, if I was rich I would do it in a heartbeat)
Hey, I'm not rich, just a matter of savings which started a year ago. I was originally going for the Apple Cinema 30" which was $2299, but the Dell is priced just right. And this is my business, so I can justify the expense. Besides the fact that this is way cool to have, it will and has increased my productivity. With multiple windows available and less zoomin and scrollin, jobs and deadlines will be so much easier to finish.
At $1399 that's not actually too expensive, prices last year for a 23" monitor were around $1400, a 20" was $1000. Start saving now, and in a year the price for a 30" should be around $800
