Apple today announced that more than one 1 million copies of its Safari for Windows Web browser were downloaded in the first 48 hours since its release on Monday. The Cupertino-based company touts Safari 3 as the world's fastest and easiest-to-use browser, "rendering Web pages up to twice as fast as IE (Internet Explorer) and up to 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2." Apple's browser supports all of the modern internet standards including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, and Java. Safari updates are delivered easily through Apple's Software Update feature, the first of which has already arrived which fixes various security flaws discovered in the test browser just after its release.
