AKalel: Okay I am not saying its stellar (sorry no pun intended) and not saying its the complete opposte but aside that it was not adapted from any of the comics what was or are the major problems with this movie. I liked some of it.
The closing credits?
Say... you didn't post something similar here did you?
I thought it was mostly pretty entertaining. I kind of do agree a little bit with the Globe and Mail reviewer's blurb and the Boston Globe guy's blurb (from the above link) with respect to the human characters in the movie. Quite frankly, too many human characters and none of them developed particularly well. As tedious as I found the beginning of the previous AVP movie, at least they did a better job of establishing a few of the characters to the point where you actually almost care about a couple of them. In this one, they're pretty much just there to be potential victims. A couple of characters have what could almost be interesting storylines but with so many characters, they just don't get the screen time to really develop. I have to admit that I did get a kick out of seeing Reiko Aylesworth as the tough marine mother. That character could've been turned into a Ripley type for this series if they had just spent a little more time on her. But the best parts of the movie involve the Predator hunting... and sometimes being hunted by... the Aliens. That stuff was fun and entertaining and really what you go to that movie for anyway. The movie's not great by any stretch of the imagination but still a fun little guilty pleasure.
