My family and I were happy that Dr. Carson Beckett rejoined the team. I hope they can find it in their budget to keep him.

He'll be back for a few episodes in season 5, but he's not going to be starring.

He will be in at least 5 episodes in season five...perhaps more. They are not finished writing all of season five yet.

Paul himself said he would love to do more.

 I for one am very much looking forward to season 4 and 5.
