    The Sword of Destiny

The Sword of Destiny is a relic from 2,000 years ago, believed to be the sword that pierced Christ's side. It is believed that whoever holds this artifact can control the destiny of the world. It was last reportedly held by Adolf Hitler, and has been lost ever since. Or, so we are led to believe. Hitler's banker, an American named Bush (George W.'s grandfather) may have taken the relic, along with gold and other priceless objects, to America on Hitler's orders. This would help to explain why his offspring, first George, who helped put the American economy into a serious downturn, then his son George W., who has caused a war based on false intelligence, put America so deep in debt any future President will need to beg, borrow and steal before fighting another war, let alone other expensive government programs, debased the value of the U.S. dollar never before seen, and well, as incompetent as they were/are, are still controlling the destiny of the world. If Mr. Bush hands this sword on to Mr. McCain, then he, of course will win the election, and God only knows where we'll end up then! Many believe Mr. McCain can't possibly win, and I believe there is one way...

Watch this November's elections....it will prove who holds the Sword of Destiny.

If it's a sword they have, then there's nothing to worry about (assuming there was even any merit to this story in the first place).  It was a spear that pierced Christ's side...

The location of the Spear of Longinus is in a known location.  It is in the Schatzkammer in Austria.

I remember some show on History or Discovery, called "The Spear of Christ" (or something like that). Supposedly there are 3 or 4 spears, each claimed to be "the spear". I also remember some tale about the one that Hitler had, being dismantled to a number of pieces, each being shipped to various corners of the Earth.

    Re: The Sword of Destiny

There were 4 but only two are known to be extant.  The one in the Vatican and the one in Austria.  Hitler had the Austrian one.  When the Americans obtained it, they returned it to the Austrians.  It is composed of a spearhead and a nail from the cross, bound in silver and gold.  It's still intact.

    Re: The Sword of Destiny

i don't believe that this is in the Science section.

and just for comment...any so-called Spear of Destiny would not have gold and silver binding (unless added on later).

it would be a plain-looking pilum like every hobnailed-sandal-wearing-foot-slogger of a legionnaire carried on campaign.

just like, in the movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the grail was a plain-looking wooden cup..."the kind suitable for a carpenter king" and not those gem-encrusted chalices scattered all over the place.

Thanks, but I don't need any help getting into trouble since I seem to manage quite well on my own.
