    Is Star Trek dead

Is Star Trek dead? Obviously, they will continue to be Star Trek conventions, and the fans will continue to worship what has come before, but will they produce new Star Trek TV shows? In a world where people seem to want gritty Star Wars influenced space shows with less than perfect futures, is there room for the Star Trek universe, or has its place been taken by Galactica?

The new movie will be out May 2009. Until then, it can't die and it's too soon to tell what life it will have afterwards.

The clip on that site gives me chills! Big Smile

As long as the shows are run in syndication, Trek will live long and prosper.

Hmm [^o)] Re: Is Star Trek dead

Trek isn't dead, but it has decided to go back to the beginning and start over again… which, in my mind, is almost as bad.

I DO agree it needs a shake up, but this constant heading backwards (Enterprise, the new movie…) has the franchise going in the wrong direction IMHO.

(Of course, there's always the chance I'll be proved wrong, but I'm not swayed so far.)
