    Moonlight

Recently CBS cancelled its vampire series Moonlight, which won the 2008 People's Choice Award for Favourite New TV Drama. Ironic, eh?

Currently, the Sci Fi Channel and Direct TV are in preliminary talks about possibly picking up the series, but there is nothing definite, yet. But if you Google "Moonlight petitions" you begin to get a picture of the magnitude of the devotion of the series's fans by the sheer number of online petitions that have been created to bring the show back. As one of those devoted fans (I never missed an episode, and watched them all several times each) I just wanted to put my "two cents" in to request Space pick up the series. Whether this means purchasing the rights to the series itself, or expressing its interest to Sci Fi/Direct TV in "tuning in" -- whatever process ensures the best means of giving the show another chance.

The fantastically clever and sympathetic writing, the sheer chemistry of the cast, and its sexy, cool appeal gave me something to look forward to each Friday night that is supremely missed. If you read the comments on CBS's own blog site regarding Moonlight (see http://www.cbs.com/primetime/moonlight/) or read the comments associated with the online petitions, you will get a sense of the how passionately fans miss the series, and why the show is worth renewing. For whatever reason, CBS saw fit to cancel the series -- but it was a stark miscalculation that Space could stand well to benefit from in terms of a large and loyal fan base.

Please give Moonlight a second chance!

    Thanks,
    catwoman6

(P.S. I am a faithful viewer of Space, never missing Battlestar Galactica.)

    Re: Moonlight

Catwoman I am in total agreement with you!!

The show was reaching a point where the plot line was getting more involved and complicated....Who is trying to kill off all the vamps living in LA??  Why?? How does this person/persons know who all the vamps are??

Moonlight was/is not the "Typical Vampire" show.  The vamps can walk around in daylight, they sleep in freezers, they can be photographed digitally, and show reflections in mirrors, as a result they can blend in with the human population and that makes the story so much more believable.

The writer's strike is what killed the show in CBS's eyes no doubt.  Moonlight, along with other shows, were stuck in the re-run hell while the strikers were negotiating with the powers that be, just as Moonlight was taking off.  The show never got a chance as a result.  It has me calling CBS Consistant/Constant B.S., because it seems every time they get a show worth watching in the line up they 86 it saying no one was watching.  Sorry CBS not every TV viewer has a Nielson (sp?) box attached to their TV tracking their viewing patterns.  CBS is only concerned with American viewers and not those watching CBS programs in other countries.

Blood Ties is another original take on the Vampire and Space has picked it up in the schedule hopefully the show can be salvaged, Space will add it to the programming and we can resume where the show left off.  I am dying to find out who has the vendetta against the vamps!!!

I sent a letter to CBS via their feedback letting them know I am  NOT impressed with them taking the show off the air ,and told them if no one was watching...then why did the show win a People's Choice Award...after all the People's Choice is a fan based award.

I'm just in shock over the show being axed, and Moonlight is the only reason I even watched a Ghost Whisperer episode, which is also something I told CBS.

Should another station pick up Moonlight I hope and pray Space picks it up to feed my addiction!!!

    to you ladies.

As a matter of interest have anyone of you girls of heard the far superior...."Forever Knight" which 'Moonlight' is but poor ripoff.? Now Nicholas Knight really did have problems, where as this young pretender. I wasn't too surprised it went South. Forever  Knight was mainly a Canadian, both actor wise & all filming wise. I first coped eyes on it, on Murdock's satellite Sky TV station Sky 1 in old Blighty in the Nineties .

Check this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forever_Knight   And while your at it, try this site too.
