"Sexy thief Bela (Lauren Cohan) has already been sent to hell — unlike Dean, she won’t be released — and now the show’s creator Eric Kripke tells TV Guide it’s bye bye to sexy demon Ruby as well.

“She’s great, but this was unfortunately a financial decision — purely budgetary, because creatively she was terrific," Kripke said. "I have nothing but great affection for Katie, and she was great for the show. It was a very difficult business decision about the realities we are in." Though the budget’s the same as last year, the show films in Canada and is suffering from a lousy exchange rate.

There will be female characters, Kripke promises. But expect more of the love ‘em, leave ‘em or kill ‘em variety. “We have a plan that’s as exciting as any we’ve ever had of how to thread new characters in some unexpected ways,” he said, adding that the season opener will have a couple of “bombshells that will set the show off in a new direction.” Just don’t mess too much with those Winchester boys!"

Awesome. No more Bela OR Ruby FTW! I just hope the "new females" that are introduced aren't as loathsome as these two.

As for Lazarus Rising, the season 4 opener, there is much spoilery info at Supernatural.tv - just follow the link in the news. I won't post the spoilers here; you can read 'em for yourself, but I'm squeeing already.

Im glad about Bela, I did start to like Ruby though.

I've read all about this on imdb mostly, I can't wait to finally see whats going to happen, what's real and what's just rumours. 

I didn't mind Ruby, but getting rid of the sidekicks is a good move IMO. This show is - and should be - about the brothers.

I really hope season 4 can get back on form.

I didn't mind Ruby. I thought she might serve a useful purpose in helping Sam figure out his powers, but I'm not heartbroken she's gone. Maybe her little escapade of underage drinking in Texas didn't do her any favours but hey, don't blame it all on the Cdn. dollar. :-)  I hope there isn't a strike. After the writers' strike it would suck to have to wait even longer yet again.

I read the spoiler, to be honest I found it hard to follow and focus on. But seems like Sammy gets some action for a change. ;-) Looking forward to the new season.

Glad to hear that Bela will be staying in h*ll (hopefully Kripke et al don't change their minds about that). I liked the Ruby character but I think she would take away from the dynamic between the brothers if she continued on the show. Besides didn't Katie Cassidy run afoul of the law a few months ago? I wonder if the decision not to continue her character had more to do with the people behind the show not wanting to pay her bail/post bond rather than issues arising from the high Canadian dollar.

use google and search for  supernatural season 4 first five minutes not a joke its legit , they showed a sneak peak at comic con

they also said that sam and dean will not be as close this season , keeping secrets from each other from what i read mainly has to do with how dean comes back from hell

 

from what i saw in those first five minutes though i wish summer was over lol so  they would start the season already

 

 jared ( sam) is also in the friday the 13th remake wich will be coming out sometime this year  though it sounds more like a remake of friday the 13th part 2 cause jason wasnt in the first one ( well he was kind of but only as a child in a few scenes ) jason is supposed to be smarter in this one and actualy set people up to kill them

And Jenson ( Dean) will be in the Remake of My Bloody Valentine wich is not being filmed here in canada ( the original was filmed here on cape breton island Nova Scotia)  it was bought by an american company and is being filmed in pitsburgh ( think i spelled that right ) anyways thats due out this year to  , im a little ticked though it will be filmed in the states

I saw the first 5 - the quality was really bad but hey - someone recorded it on their camera phone or something I guess as they showed it at the con.  But it's good enough to get the jist of it!  I can't wait for season 4, I wonder when it begins?  Looks like it's gonna be great!

from what i have read sept 9th is when season 4 will start i think well september anyways but i dont know when it will start here

I doubt the posting of bail/bond for someone that is on contract is industry practice.  It is a personal matter.  I'm sure the contract would have included a frustration clause which would cover matters beyond their control (such as actors getting into trouble and not being able to come to work) and give the production company the option to replace the actor. Besides, the actress playing RUBY isn't exactly an A-list star. 

The season 4 premiere is September 18 on the CW. Space has the season 3 finale rerun scheduled for September 12. I'm hoping that means the season 4 premiere there will be the 19th.For the record, Lauren Cohan (Bela) wasn't the one who had the DUI; it was Katie Cassidy (Ruby).
