I finally caught Ironman and waited until after the credits.  Stark enters his house and is met by Nick Fury, Director of Shield.  Except Nick is played by Samuel Jackson instead of the Hoff.  What is Sam thinking.  Can he honestly think that he can match the Hoff in the way the character is played?

First the comic character was remade in Sam Jackson's image (with his consent). So now Sam is finally playing him.

The Hoff is too busy determining whether America's Got Talent and whether the new Knight Rider needs him.

I can't see the Hoff giving up on the difinitive role.  It would be like Olivier giving up on Hamlet.

I recall that at one point (In the Terminator - Total Recall days) that Arnold Schwarzenegger was almost cast as Nick Fury. 

Arnie is no where near the Hoff in comparison.

Arnie once ran naked through the snow in Russia, if that counts. I hear he grabbed more a** also, but with all the temptation Hoff had over the Baywatch years, I'm not too sure. 

... and on another angle of the topic, I don't think Jackson makes a good Nick Fury.

What's wrong with that mutha****ing actor?  He's got a mutha'****ing purple lightsaber and enough mutha****ing snakes to keep that mutha****er  Indiana Jones in the mutha****ing psych ward for mutha****ing weeks.

Exactly.  That is Jackson's movie persona.  I've seen him in Pulp Fiction, and Die Hard With a Vengeance, and Jackie Brown and The Negotiator and Triple X, and SWAT and several others.  He is usually good, but I don't see him as Nick Fury. 

Now I am not sure how serious I am suppose to take this thread but I always saw most of the recent Marvel movies as not being the traditional versions of the characters but the ultimate versions hence Sam as Nick F.

Which is exactly what Marvel based the current Nick Fury on in the comics.

In other words, this role was quite literally made for him.

I see Nick Fury as being the old Nick Fury. I hate it when they change a comicbook character's look and personality to match an actor's.  Is Spiderman drawn as Tobey McGuire now?  He may be, I haven't looked. 

On The Arnie comment, it may have been Nick fury or it may have been a character called Sergeant Rock.  After all these years I'm not sure.  

When they did the Ultimate Nick Fury, they made him look like Samuel Mutha****ing Jackson.  Before he was offered this part.  This is just going full circle.

 I still feel that they should have based the character on the Hoff.  If he could act with a car, he can act with a bunch of CGI characters.
